I’ve been really congested so I took a Benadryl and fell asleep on the couch today and had such a weird dream. A woman with only a mouth put her hand on my shoulder and turned me around and there was a guy behind me, he looked sorta familiar? But definitely not like anyone I know. Kate was there, plus those two hikers I see around all the time.

Kate’s leg is better now, but she still insists on using her crutches when she goes anywhere. I’ve seen her walk on both feet, though. I wonder why she does that…

Antihistamine dreams are so bizarre sometimes. I try not to take them often.

My memory has been really bad lately, so I posted about it on Reddit and this guy messaged me asking a lot of weird questions. Anyone know what G.S. might stand for? He said that’s what I should call him.

I mean, he’s asking me about my imaginary friends when I was a kid. What does that have to do with my memory, do you think? Just a test? I remember him just fine. Real tall and smiley with a colorful suit. I don’t think I had a name for him, but I was really, really young, so I figure that’s why.

Should I even keep talking to this G.S. guy? He seems like a weirdo. And not in an endearing way.

if anyone is curious what they met up in the woods for, slender wanted to meet casey at a particularly scenic overlook and describe the view to him.

slender folk, as i’ve said before, rely on infrared for their long distance vision, so he’s never really known what the views from mountains and cliffs are meant to look like

Human Vision VS Ocumalysis Vision

i think i’ve mentioned before that vision is different for individuals suffering from ocumalysis but now i’d like to elaborate on how

on the left is normal human vision on a bright day, and on the right is ocumalysis-affected vision on a bright day. bright lights are ESPECIALLY blinding to those with ocumalysis which means if it’s a bright day and there’s snow on the ground, you can almost guarentee you won’t encounter anyone with ocumalysis

wearing masks with a see-through but dark material (plastic, or mesh) over the eye holes helps significantly with day vision, which is why eyeless jack wears his signature mask. sunglasses don’t enclose the eyes enough to have the same effect.

at night, their vision is improved. on the left is normal human vision and on the right is ocumalysis affected vision. arguably the only time ocumalysis sufferers can see normally is when it’s dark outside or dark in the room they’re in, or at the very least dimly lit.

i suppose now is a better time than any to introduce another video game creepypasta native to TNC: Epilogue and TNC: Afterword

this hypno doesn’t yet have his name in Epilogue but is affectionately known as Gramps in Afterword. he’s the titular antagonist of my own interpretation of “hypno’s lullaby” which is a little closer to the pokémon’s actual pokédex entries rather than the notion he’s kidnapping children with the intent to cause misfortune.

of course, just because he’s not intending to cause misfortune doesn’t absolve him of his misdoings. he is absolutely still kidnapping anyone he can carry, just for mildly less awful reasons.

to anyone interested, his moveset is Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Teleport, and Nasty Plot. he can of course also use any manner of physical attacks because he exists within the real world and it doesn’t take much practice to punch or headbutt someone. his ability is Insomnia, which, unfortunately, doesn’t help him very much outside of a battle setting and just makes it hard for him to sleep.

do you have any new details abt after world?

i don’t have any story details but i CAN tell you what a few characters are up to in Afterword compared to their canon counterparts. some characters i’ve already talked about will be here for reference purposes, too.

Slenderman

living alone in the Tall Manor, even more reclusive than usual and especially angsty due to the home falling into disrepair. he hires casey as a live-in housekeeper to manage the place

Splendorman

lives in a cottage in rural germany and mostly keeps to himself. he goes out in more populated during holidays especially, and otherwise just kinda tends his garden and gains more and more hobbies to fill his time. loves the occasional guest but doesn’t often get them.

‘Fenderman

not as ridiculed as he is in canon TNC at the start of the story, but still kind of an outcast. wants to mingle with people again but isn’t sure how to jump back into it, so he literally dances to his own beat when he goes out on the town.

Trenderman

his career is more successful but he has less time for friends and family because of it. workaholic on a very unhealthy level, the only thing he really does for himself is yoga and meditation

Casey

the most mature and well adjusted he’s ever been. seemingly. he’s just better at being secretive about his weirdness. tends to the tall manor and pines over slender the whole time he’s living there. he’s just lucky slender is the least motivated to kill anyone he’s ever been, or else he’d be on thin ice

Daisy

never did put her foot down to her mother and subsequently got pressured into modeling. she hates it but doesn’t know how to get out or what she’d even do if she did manage to get out of it. meets splendor while in germany for a very important photo shoot, ends up missing the date because of that and more just happens from there.

Roxy

never really got as close with trender as she should have and ended up quitting modeling to pursue her true passion of tap dance. kind of a starving artist, spots fender in a venue and just becomes enamored with his whole “i don’t care what anyone thinks” thing.

Jeff

works the day shift as high school janitor instead of the night shift, living a little healthier because of that. also a lot more grown up than he is in regular TNC, but it’s at the cost of not having as many connections. smile dog doesnt live with him, he’s still in touch with liu and his parents but things are awkward with them.

Ben

haunts a game shop along with some other video game pastas, living pretty comfortably but craving more excitement. talks to jeff when he visits the shop, the two are still friends despite not living together. as opposed to their usual kid cousin sort of bond, jeff is more of a good influence/uncle type of figure

Additional notes:

all the former proxies actually helped defeat zalgo, have since had their marks removed, and now live very normal lives. tim is nowhere near as paranoid which is good. jem still knows all of them

nina isn’t as. colorful and fun as she usually is. she kinda missed the boat to develop that sort of style in her youth and is now a young lady not sure what she wants from life. i do plan on her finding the fun again though

smile dog went back to her usual haunts after zalgo was defeated. i imagine she might run into some major characters

zalgo and judas have a better relationship. it’s less “i hate my dad because he wanted to kill all my friends and also the planet” and more “i hate my dad because he tries too hard to be hip and it’s annoying and i’m 17”

not sure if blaine will appear in this au or not. i’d need a good excuse for him to even exist.

Something happened to one of her legs, but she won’t say what. I guess it must be embarrassing? That’s fine, though, I’ll help her patch it up.

What’s really weird is I had a dream the other night she was talking to this guy and he called her Kate. I didn’t see what the guy looked like, but I did see her face in that dream.

She’s really pretty. I wonder what she’s doing all the way out here.

Do any of the Slenders know sign language?? I can imagine Splendor using it to communicate with the hoh kids

splendor definitely knows it, yeah. slender probably knows some very basic stuff, but he’s more inclined towards morse code when it comes to non verbal communication. trender probably also knows it since a lot of the kids that came through the house while slender was still out killing and such had to be super quiet.

i am excited to finally have her in TNC because she’s a lot of fun in legends and i miss having her in the spotlight

Do slenders have a form of communication/device/etc for those who have disabilities? Or do all Slenders turn out able-bodied

well keep in mind as of right now there are only 7 slender people on earth including blaine, wilderman, and the widow.

because of how zalgo interfered with Wilderman’s development, he has balance issues comparable to vertigo, nearly constant muscle tension in his head and neck (which is what pulls his lips back like that), and also lacks the ability to teleport. in epilogue he does find ways to ease some of these issues, namely exercises to help with his vertigo and muscle tension. the only way to get around not being able to teleport is to have a friend that can teleport, though.

also in the future please direct questions like this to @tncdevelopment since that’s where informative stuff like this belongs

the first one would be extremely hard for any of them to tell the difference but the second one would be alright for those with more of an eye for colors (i.e. Splendor and Trender). splendor and trender could tell the purple from the magenta but probably not the difference between the magenta and the shoe.

more fun facts about slender person senses for the uninformed:

they rely a lot on infrared vision for their long-distance sight, they can only make out finer details at shorter range. their color vision is limited to about a 20 ft radius, and their ability to read things like text is limited to a much shorter 10ft radius. slender unfortunately cannot stand on a mountain and really look at the forest from above the same way casey could, he can only get that experience from photos

their sense of smell is sort of min-maxed, if i had to think of a word to describe it. they have trouble smelling things they wouldn’t really eat or spend time around if left undisturbed by humans. the smell of things like baked goods and chemicals are usually lost on them. in the other hand they are especially good at smelling blood, a vast range of bodily fluids and excretions (unfortunately), most natural fragrances (flowers, pine, wood, etc) as well as a few hormones like adrenaline and progesterone. hypothetically, if you are diabetic a slender person could help you manage that like a trained dog could.

as for HOW they smell, they do not have nose holes obviously but they do have pretty sensitive olfactory sensors on the roofs of their mouths which they use to smell. if a slender person is mouth breathing on you, they’re probably actually smelling you. they rely a lot on you not knowing that.

their sense of touch isn’t quite as fine as human’s is because of the density and composition of their skin. their fingertips are kinda firm and almost like hard rubber at the very tip. in slender folk that have the dark leathery sort of hands, their sense of touch is actually a lot better than their counterparts because the skin on their hands is smoother and less stiff

their hearing is actually not very good because of the the layer of skin over their “ears”. thankfully their other senses help them to navigate without very good hearing but in settings like a public space full of people, it would be hard for them to differentiate between voices. fender and splendor got very good at reading lips.

as slender mentioned they have a bit more range in taste compared to humans in certain areas. similar to dogs, they taste water differently and can actually taste differences in water a lot easier than humans can. they can also taste a much broader range of flavors in unseasoned meat than humans can, but in exchange they can’t taste as many of the spices that humans put on food. which… partially explains why the majority of them prefer to eat meat raw. all of them smell and taste cilantro like soap

and they do have one sense that no organism on earth has, which would be their ability to sense “aura”. even if you are in a completely different room of a very large house, there’s a good chance a slender person would know where you are immediately even without the aid of their other senses. this sense is more subtle in TNC slender folk but MUCH more pronounced in slender folk as they are in Legends because they lack their sense of smell in legends. in legends, a persons aura is perceptible to them even when they aren’t specifically looking for it.

as for the other denizens of the upside down, Hollows share most of these senses with slender folk but have much, much better eyesight without any of their ability to sense auras. Mimics vary a LOT in their body layout but generally when a sense is lacked completely it’s usually made up for with better aura detection.
