The Ultimate Padding Guide!
Heyo! I decided it is time for an updated and more specific padding guide! I had an entire revised guide written, but before it was posted, my computer freaked out and I lost all of it. Here is my attempt at version two! This guide will include everything that is crucial to wearing padding and what I use to enhance my baby boy's littlespace.
If you are a little who is new to padding, it may feel weird or guilt-inducing, but as a caregiver, I promise that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing padding for SFW purposes! For some age regressors, wearing padding can provide a feeling of security and it lets you feel like a helpless little baby which makes my little go deeper into headspace. If you do not like wearing padding, that does not make you any less of a little either!
If you are a little who enjoys being padded 24/7, basically means all the time, it is very important to be safe and understand that there are some health risks that you must consider. If you are willing to do the proper safety precautions, then there is no problem with being 24/7! Safety is my top priority for my little, so when he does go 24/7, I make sure to enforce all of the safety measures I will mention in this post. Both littles and caregivers should know and understand that health comes first.
My recommendations may not be the same as your preferences, and that's ok! Everyone's body is different, so make sure that you take the time to figure out what is right for you! I am just sharing what my little and I know to be the best options.
Sometimes my little likes to wear padding throughout the day, so I make sure that I get the proper padding and safety products for him! During the day, you should change your little more often to reduce the risk of the padding becoming too thick. The added pressure will cause the leg guards to cinch up and cause skin abrasions which are painful. Even if you are a little without a caregiver, it is important to be safe when wearing padding to reduce the risk of rash, skin damage, or UTI. The list of products I use are as follows:
Up & Up Lavender Baby Wipes: Cleaning off your little after removing the used padding is extremely important. You never want to put your little in new padding before they've been cleaned. For bigger messes, you should run a shower for little one and help them clean off. I always get the lavender ones because they smell so good!
Johnson's Soothing Aloe & Vitamin E Baby Powder: This powder absorbs any excess wetness on their skin to make sure that it does not create diaper rash! This specific brand infuses the powder with aloe to keep the skin soft and healthy.
Padding Cover: Plastic covers for padding help block any odors and it prevents the possibility of leaking. I usually look for the ones that say "low noise" in their purchase description because they muffle the crinkling of the padding and allow it to be more discrete. They also come in multiple designs and colors!
When it comes to daytime padding, the biggest aspect that you need to pay attention to is the absorbency. I recommend padding that holds 3500mL to 4500mL. Like I mentioned earlier, too much absorbency in the wrong padding can end up being painful. There are plenty of cute options regarding designs and colors, but these are my little's favorites:
Rearz Little Monsters: This pack has five adorable monsters that are on a blue, purple, and white background! These have a perfect absorbency and comfortability. They have little pawprint indicators that show caregivers when their little needs changed. They are also baby powder scented. (https://rearz.ca/rearz-lil-monsters-diapers/)
Rearz Lil Squirts Splash: This pack features five pastel animals that swim around on the white background! They also have little bubble indicators and the same absorbency levels as the Little Monsters. (https://rearz.ca/rearz-lil-squirts-diapers-splash/)
ABUniverse Bunny Hops: This adorable pink and white pack is covered in cute bunnies! They are more absorbant than Rearz, but they start out thinner and are less likely to bunch up. This can be said for all hook and loop based padding from ABU. (https://us.abuniverse.com/product/bny4/)
ABUniverse DinoRawrZ: This padding pack features different baby dinosaurs on a blue and white background! The specifications are the exact same as the Bunny Hops. (https://us.abuniverse.com/product/dno/)
ABUniverse Kiddo: This pack has little blue and green owls on a blue and white background! They have a perfect absorbency and have two tapes instead of four. This allows for changing in public to be easier. (https://us.abuniverse.com/product/kdo/)
During the night, kiddos need padding specifically designed to hold more because everyone knows littles are most likely going to have accidents! It is important to make sure you have padding that doesn't make you uncomfy in the middle of the night. Nighttime padding is usually a lot thicker and are designed to accommodate for higher absorbency.
The safety products that I use for nighttime padding changes are:
Up & Up Lavender Baby Wipes: These wipes are used to clean off your little one before putting on new padding! I mentioned these in the daytime protection products.
Johnson's Bedtime Baby Powder: Just like the baby powder for daytime, this helps absorb any excess wetness and protects the skin. This powder is infused with lavender to help calm your little.
Aquaphor Healing Cream Baby: This diaper rash cream helps prevent, soothe, and treat any rashes that may form from wearing padding.
Johnson's Bedtime Lotion: This baby lotion is infused with natural aromas that help soothe and relax your little! Putting this lotion onto your little one will increase sleep quality when incorporated into your bedtime routine.
Now its time to pick some nighttime padding! These are my top choices:
--CAUTION: LittleForBig is a padding company that also has content not safe for little kids so remember to only look at the padding section!--
Rearz Safari: This fun jungle pack features a bunch of cute animals on a white background! These are super absorbent and comfortable, perfect for lasting throughout the night. (https://rearz.ca/rearz-safari-nighttime-briefs/)
Rearz Dinosaur: This pack has cute dinos all over it with a blue trim and white background! Along with their awesome absorbency, these have a soft plastic backing unlike the other Rearz padding options. (https://rearz.ca/rearz-dinosaur-elite-diapers/)
Rearz Alpaca: This padding pack features pastel alpacas on a white background and a turquoise trim! This padding has high absorbency and has wetness indicators for your caregiver. (https://rearz.ca/rearz-alpaca-overnight-diapers/)
LittleForBig Little Dreamers: This adorable blue padding pack has little bears on clouds all over it! These have a soft cloth-like inner padding that absorbs wetness quickly. Their leg guards are stretchy and have a strong leak guard. This is the same for all LFB padding options. (https://www.littleforbig.com/product/little-dreamers-adult-diapers-10-pieces-pack/)
LittleForBig Little Fantasy: This pink and purple pack has little toy horses and balloons! Their absorbency and comfortability is the same as the other LFB padding. (https://www.littleforbig.com/product/little-fantasy-adult-diapers-10-pieces-pack/)

Do not force your little to wear padding if they do not want to
Do not ignore safety precautions as a punishment
Do not sexualize your little while they are regressed
Make sure to talk with your little about personal boundaries and preferences
Look up extra guides for help if you need it
Do not do anything you are uncomfortable with, your boundaries matter too!
