To Save The Past!

The official blog for the comics, lore, and story of the comic "To Save The Past." All posts will be related to the comic, and will probably be important to the story. This takes place after a canon pacifist timeline, but the player had never controlled Frisk, and Frisk went through the pacifist route by themselves. It will be a while before actual comics start being posted, as I want as many people to find this before the comic starts. Please stay though, because there will be lore posts, and I will answer questions as long as it isn't spoilers.

Obviously, this entire post is out of character, not posted by whoever is posting these other posts. This post is meant to be a guide to what has been posted so far, and what will be posted. I also want to clarify that, while what happens in any drawings and comics will be canon, the tags are never in character or canon, and any words posted with the comics will also not be canon (such as next and previous post links, etc). Now pl-please stay quiet so I-I can record this video dem-demonstration. O-OH it's already re-recording, alright, le-let's see... M-Most Humans have both determination and magic, how-however, Humans that h-have the true Determination s-soul trait have no magic. Instead, th-they must rely on Human or Monster-made weapons. W-we still do not know wh-why this is, although it is speculated th-that the more Determination a H-human soul has, the less connected it is t-to magic. Every o-other Human soul trait has access to some t-type of magic, so the true Determination soul n-not having any access to magic at a-all is an anomaly. I-in fact, Frisk here is the o-only Human found alive to have the true D-determination soul. The-there have been others, b-but they seem to be the o-only Human during their time to have th-that soul trait. This s-seems to suggest that only one human w-with this trait can exist at a time, and is 'p-passed down' from one human to the next that h-has the next most determination. H-However! This also me-means that, at least while in the vicinity of th-the CORE, the Human with the m-most Determination will be able to SAVE, wh-while the other humans would not. It seems th-that, while this soul trait doesn't have access to m-magic in the traditional sense, th-they are more connected to the SAVE. This also suggests that, while there are n-no Humans in the vicinity of the CORE, the M-monster with the most determination would be able to SAVE and LOAD, p-possibly suggesting that there have been c-countless RESETS before F-frisk freed the Us from th-the Underground.

So here is some more lore, for now.

*Souls are not visible outside of battles, both on the Surface and in the Underground. In the Underground, however, is the only place Humans can actually view and use their magic. On the Surface, humans no longer have a concept of magi, as they no longer enter battles either. Humans have long since been in battles, meaning they can no longer initiate battles, whether with Humans or Monsters. This means they can't view their soul color, or really check any stats, as that can also only be done in battles when on the surface, or by certain Monsters. Humans also no longer know the Rules of the Game, like how Gerson knows you can't fight when you are currently running a shop. This means that anytime they enter the Underground, they have to learn the Rules. In the Underground, all Humans can check stats, but still can't start battles unless they have a true determination soul, or one of the two hybrid souls that come from a true determination soul. Humans have been left without magic for so long that the hybrid souls are very rare, since parents can no longer check their partners stats to see if they are a match for a hybrid soul. However, there are still some hybrid souls, since their are a lot of humans that could match and make a hybrid.

*Souls typically change when in a void, such as the one from the last post. They are typically much more transparent, and are unable to be physically touched. However, on voids, their powers are increased. This is because the void has no surrounding environment to drain energy from the soul.

*This also means that, in voids, monsters and humans are significantly stronger, but their souls can also be physically hurt.

Lore!! Yay!

*This is the current souls chart. There are some extra souls, but showing those now would be spoilers. We have the normal soul traits: red is determination, orange is bravery, yellow is justice, green is kindness, aqua is patience, blue is integrity, and violet is perseverance. Human souls are fully made of Determination, although the determination soul has the most out of any souls.

*We also have white, which are monster souls, and are fully made of magic. Only Boss Monster's souls are typically visible, as normal monster souls don't have enough magic to sustain themselves out of the body for very long or at all.

*Amalgamation souls have determination in them, but they become unstable not long after forming, and are never formed naturally. They are the ones with a red circle in the center. The red circle can be bigger or smaller, depending on how much determination they have. They can also take the shape of several hearts merged together if several monsters become entangled.

*Determination Gods are formed when a human absorbs one or more monster souls, which makes them extremely powerful and able to use magic on a much larger scale than normal humans would be able to. Humans can have magic, but they do not have unlimited attacks, and run out of stamina for magic attacks very quick. These souls can be made with any color of human soul.

*Monster Gods are formed when a monster absorbs one or more human souls, which makes them extremely powerful and able to withhold their body shape for much longer than normal. They can also save when outside of the underground, making them more powerful than humans and Determination Gods as neither of those can save outside of the underground. These souls can be made with any color of human soul, with the most powerful human soul showing up most in the monsters soul.

*Last is the hybrid souls, which are very rare and have to be made under certain circumstances. Only souls close in power can make them, and they have to be made with two soul traits that are similar. When souls are made outside of these conditions, the new soul will simply take after one of the parents. This also applies to human and monster marriages, and half of the children will end up monsters, while the other half end up human. The traits for the hybrid souls are: blood Orange= temerity, gold= courage, lime= benevolence, mint= empathy, sky blue= decency, indigo= composure, and magenta= ambition. There is the possibility of more hybrid traits in future generations, but they have yet to be seen.

I will explain the extra souls as they become relevant, but that is all I can say for now.
