just want to say I love your art.
I'm also curious for your more in depth thoughts on bloodloathe. You say you like the toxicness of it but what about like them actually being healthy maybe after Scott try to be good or Legs tries to help Scott like he did owen.
holy crap i forgot about this ask
it's from way back in january, dude i'm so sorry it took this long ToT
welp
it only feels appropriate to answer now i'm back in the bloodloathing building :')
to answer the question; it depends
i enjoy "healthy" bloodloathing to a degree, i mean i have art to prove it and a whole au that is just them but healthier (college bloodloathing)
personally i was never a big fan of Scott's character after episode 6, the whole "trying to be good" thing just felt too rushed and on the nose
i like my apathetic shallow evil vampire man, buuuuuuuuuuut i don't hate it. i genuinely do think bloodloathing could have a chance at being at least somewhat healthy based on the series and stuff, but then i'd rather it be gradual, whether it be for selfish reasons or Scott (whether he likes it or not) beginning to genuinely care for people, including Legs. i like it
i still like them a bit toxic tho. or unhealthy. even in college au, despite all the fluffy romancy art i draw of them, Scott isn't just apathetic, he's uncomfortable at the idea of feelings and affection at all. and Legs isn't much better with his stubbornness, denial and self loathing. he hates Scott almost as much as he hates himself, he has an idea of who Scott is and him being incapable of being a good person as much as he believes he can't be a good person after what he's done.
that makes for quite the unhealthy cocktail, both of them fighting internal battles and refusing to make anything of it.
and the mermaid au is a goofy "rare mermaid sighting, wants to eat humans, and one of said human knowing it, hating it, and being too much of a nerd to stop himself from wanting to know more"
and they proceed to argue and Legs gets bitten a lot
the healthiest bloodloathing au i co-own is the arranged marriage au
genuinely don't know how but we managed to just make it stupid gay domestic fluff about royal vampires that got married because business.
in conclusion, helathy bloodloathing is perfectly possible and fun
but i prefer it spicy :)
thank you for coming to my ted talk
