His heart fluttered. Scott? He tried to push his thoughts through the sire-fledgling bond like he had slowly been learning. It was tricky when Scott kept his end of the connection so iron-tight, but it was worth it whenever he got a response.
He tried not to think about how pathetic that was.
However, the bond seemed…frayed. Distant. Confused, Legundo opened his eyes. A man was wrapped around him, eyes completely open and trained on him.
He looked like Scott, before he had gorged on blood.
He was Scott?
Scott smiled, full of warmth and love and Legs could not shake the feeling that it wasn't meant for him. "Good morning, cherry."
OR:
Hanahaki AU Legundo and Modern AU Legundo inexplicably swap places and meet their Scotts. This truly only goes well for one of them, but there's the ticking time bomb of when they swap back...
The flowers were already getting worse from Scott's presence. If he was lucky, he'd be able to get out of the conversation before he ruined Scott's shoes.
…Though, maybe that wouldn't be entirely a bad thing. His imagined look of disdain on Scott's face nearly made him snicker.
"I know your problem." Scott stated, holding a little petal in his grasp. It had wilted long ago, which made Legundo wonder how long he had had it.
"I don't know what you mean."
"I know of the disease," Scott said it casually, like Legundo hadn't spent the last almost-month searching for any answers on the mysterious disease that he still didn't have a name to. "Hanahaki disease. It kills you from the inside out." He paused to look the doctor up and down. "You're dying."
"And?"
OR:
When Doctor Legundo learns his fatal disease is because of his (unfounded and ridiculous) attraction to Scott Goldsmith, he caves to his offer to turn him. Little does he know that it's only going to get worse from here because Scott's not opposed to playing the long game.
ASK: Bloodloathing but they're office job coworkers that can't stand each other
Bloodloathing would be the two rivals that nobody knows why they hate each other but it's always been that way, they're constantly trying to one up each other in work (v!legs workaholic vs v!scott "does it all at the last second perfectly SOMEHOW)
They'd probably just stare at each other angrily at the water cooler and everybody is tired of them but they're too good at what they do so nobody can find an excuse to fire them One day there's a work party and they're kissing in the corner and nobody knows why
They used to have cubicles next to each other but due to safety concerns they had to be moved to two different sides of the room. this has made everything worse for all involved bc v!scott ragebaits v!legs across the room all the time by being lazy and snarky
Also, they used to fight over promotions but now they're not allowed to be promoted anymore so they're truly just doing this competition and work for the love of the game (and each other) (I mean what)
Thinking about v!Scott taking on the ‘do no harm’ oath post-canon, as a reminder of both what the promise he made is and who he made it to
At first he’s very far from perfect, maybe until he almost messes up badly and from that point on knows he needs something to keep him grounded. He remembers the doctor’s mantra and tries it himself. If it worked for Legs, maybe it’ll help him too
He starts saying it to himself mentally whenever he catches himself going too far, whenever he’s starting to fall back into old habits. And it helps. He starts to understand Legundo’s mindset more, just from taking on the saying. It genuinely helps him to be better, alongside the support from Shelby and Drift
Maybe one day he accidentally says it aloud, and is lovingly teased by his friends, but if it helps it helps. But the teasing makes him think more, Shelby’s words about how cute it is that he took it on getting under his skin and making him really think about the doc, trying to justify it to himself more and telling himself it’s normal. He represses any weird feelings he definitely doesn’t have, and continues on, but keeps using that mantra as a reminder
He starts visiting Legs’ grave, alone, just to talk about his progress. Telling him how he’s doing his best to change and be better, how he mocked him for his oath to ‘do no harm’, but that he’s really come to understand it ever since he started using it himself
He finds himself missing the doctor, wishing he could actually see how far he’s come. But he’s gone, and Scott just has to keep on living
I really like Vampires Legundo. I also wish he did more with the fake vampire thing tbh. Like, somehow. Maybe Scott knows that he isn't actually but backs up Legs because it's funny?
The concept of Scott absolutely playing into it is HILARIOUS to me. Like, he knows it's probably only going to end badly for the doctor so he might as well hop on the misery train
since scott is so old, it makes sense he'd be able to spot that Legundo isn't a vampire immediately (no bite marks and heartbeat for starters, but also his intuition and general nosiness) and definitely pretends like the doc is on his side
like, maybe making suspicious comments about how the doc is a really good vampire! or planting animal carcasses in his room for others to stumble upon! Give the others a reason to suspect the good doctor vampire may not be all he seems
Meanwhile, doctor legundo: why does scott keep showing up around me. I don't like this. I do like this????? WHAT?
(It's 3 am. For me. But I have to stop and think about this)

Humans slowly began to forget the horrors of Oakhurst's history and settle down within and outside of the walls, expanding the population to more than it ever had been. Nobody questioned that Cleo had been the mayor for so long, not when they did such a good job at running the town. They were satisfied with that.
Little by little, as the years went by, the cursed grounds of Oakhurst and the people who had been affected by it had begun to heal.
Except for one person.
Minutes after the beacon had turned smoky-black, Scott Goldsmith had not stuck with the remains of his coven as he had promised. Instead, in the flurry of activity and departures, he slipped back into his castle and shut himself inside of it. Nobody had noticed until it was too late.
Scott had not stepped out of the castle since.

It’s been two hundred years since Doctor Legundo got turned by Scott and died less than a few days later. It’s been two hundred years since Scott has shut himself inside his castle. Cleo’s sick of all of this. It’s time for them to confront the elder vampire. However, they didn’t realize how bad he had gotten…
gonna be honest this is entirely for me so I can reference this scene when I'm writing

SCOTT: Hey Doctor!
LEGUNDO: Scott...
SCOTT: How are you?
LEGS: ...Fine. Feeling a little low seasoned at the moment, though. Not sure this would be the best conversation.
SCOTT: It's difficult to have conversations when you run away from people.
LEGS: Scott, it's not exactly like you put on the most welcoming of personalities.
SCOTT: I was literally just in the middle of town answering all your questions without ANY bother?
LEGS: I mean, to be fair, half the town was flirting with you, so I'm not sure how productive of a conversation that'd be-
SCOTT: I mean, can you blameee themmm? (Shows off himself in a circle)
LEGS: Business before pleasure.
SCOTT: One can mix business and pleasure sometimes.
LEGS: Not in my line of work.
SCOTT: Yeah, no, that does feel like a...what was it? A HIPPA violation? Is that what you follow now?
LEGS: Several different versions of it, but...yes.
SCOTT: Well...I mean...how's your medicine...going here?
LEGS: I'm trying.
SCOTT: It seems like there's still a lot of people with issues.
LEGS: Taking my time. There's no instant cures.
SCOTT: Yeah but it's whether they have that time that's the issue.
LEGS: See...you keep saying that you're this...friendly person just welcoming us all in and then you make very thinly veiled threats like that.
SCOTT: Well, I don't know what illnesses they have! They could die next week! They could die-I mean, you've fallen, Martyn fell off a bridge, you never know what's next. Live every day like it's your last. Except for me, cause I don't die so every day is never my last day-
LEGS: Doesn't it get boring?
SCOTT: Well, to be fair, I am catching up on like, 600 years worth of like, stuff that's happened in that time. So I'll be fine catching up on progress for like, a while at least. I'm learning what fanfiction was. That's new.
LEGS: (laughs) Shelby, I don't doubt.
SCOTT: Yeah, mhm. Also it was nice to know that bingo's done well.
LEGS: Still progressing.
SCOTT: Mhm, I knew the guy who made it, so it's nice to know it's still being played now, like 600 years later. So that's great.
LEGS: Mhm.
SCOTT: There's so much in life to fill you with joy and whimsy and motive and purpose. Think, if you were literally alive forever, you would be able to come up with a cure for everything! If it's possible. But you would have no time constraints.
LEGS: You see, Owen said the same thing to me.
SCOTT: For what I know with him, he was really sick before he turned."
LEGS: Yes. ...Yeah. He...He said.
SCOTT: I'm not trying to veil this as a threat. I'm simply telling you the facts. If you were a vampire, you would then live long enough to be able to figure out and do medical cures and marvels.
LEGS: It's bad enough knowing I have a few decades ahead of me living with what I've done, I don't need centuries.
SCOTT: Wellll, you think that, but potentially the mental scars wear off after a while. As they say, time heals everything.
LEGS: Scars don't wear off. They just...deepen.
SCOTT: I don't think you've settled with your scars long enough. Try a few hundred years? And then you'll start to understand what I mean."
LEGS: Mm.
SCOTT: Things that once felt...unimaginable or heartbreaking, soul destroying...eventually just become things of the past. Brains have a funny way of remembering the good and forgetting the bad.
LEGS: Yes...but...we're hard coded in our memory to remember the worst. More than anything else.
SCOTT: That sounds an awful lot like a you issue. Because I don't do that. I think of all of the great times I've had.
LEGS: Then maybe you are...luckier. I would rather not take that chance.
SCOTT: I don't know what the issue is! You can at least have like, more time to figure it out. You'd have more time to right your wrongs.
LEGS: I can't right what I did. You can't undo that.
SCOTT: Well...sorry? Good luck? I don't...I don't know. I don't know the context of it nor do I really want to. But if you ever want more time-
LEGS: It's just petty human trifles. It's probably something beneath you.
SCOTT: I mean, you all make such a big deal about death and things...so...it's not that big of a deal.
LEGS: It's what gives our lives purpose, Scott.
SCOTT: Ah! No! I have found plenty of purpose in the afterlife. Speaking of, it's probably my time to go, it's becoming my time to play now. So. And that's not a threat, it just means I can run around the forest without being shot, it's lovely.
LEGS: I don't think I've ever raised a sword towards you or any of the others.
SCOTT: You haven't yet...but...people tend to. I mean, look! Sausage was at one point willing to become a vampire and Avid and Martyn punched him away and shouted and took that choice away from him.
LEGS: Humans fear what we don't understand.
SCOTT: Exactly! You fear what you understand no matter how willing I'm being to answering questions and trying to help you understand. Right now it's peaceful.
LEGS: I'm paying attention.
SCOTT: I don't think it'll stay that way.
LEGS: Are you speaking from experience or are you speaking from just boredom? Playing with your food?
SCOTT: I mean. I wouldn't play with my food, I'd rather just have a nice meal. That's a lot of work. I'm already having to rebuild a castle by hand, you think I want that manual labour? No. I'm just going off of years of experience with humans where the worst of them all comes to the top and before they realize it, they've done worse atrocities than the monsters they're claiming to hate.
LEGS: So we cause so much damage in our little lives and you want us to live for centuries?
SCOTT: Well, I'm wanting you to live for centuries in hopes that you undo the damage you do in your short little lives with your long one. But! That's stuff for you to think about. I'm gonna go. Have a good night, doctor!
"Legundo." Legundo immediately brought up his hand for the other to shake before realizing how stupidly formal it would be and tucked it behind his back. A strange look passed over the other man's eyes that he couldn't decipher.
"You can call me Doc, then."
"Doc?" Legundo's face scrunched up. "That's a profession. Not a name."
"It's a name." Doc confirmed. "Even if it wasn't, you wouldn't know what else to call me."
"...Alright. You're Doc. Do you know why we're here?"

On top of those stairs was himself. The doppelganger was perched calmly on the edge of the top stair, sitting like they had no cares in the world. Legundo immediately stiffened and grabbed one of his knives from his pockets. "Not you again."
The doppelganger simply smiled.
You protected them, didn't you?

Frustrated and tired from the past few days of stress, they couldn't help but throw their pencil towards the ground below. They kept an ear out, expecting the satisfying thunk of the object hitting the dirt.
Instead, however, they heard a large cry of pain and a kind of hollow thunk that came when one threw something against someone else's skull.
Water stiffened. Idiot, you haven't been paying attention to your surroundings.

Water isn't having the greatest day and comes across Legundo in the woods. When they get back to the dorms, Water realizes his book of writings is missing. Naturally, he jumps to conclusions.
