My favorite anime character of all time, especially from when I was a kid just being introduced was calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle. He tried to be tough he tried to be bigger and more impressive but when it came down to it just wanting to help and make friends. So before transition I used the name calcifer in a lot of my online spaces, but after the whole oh I might be a girl thing, feminizing even my online name just kind of fit. It's even more ironic but the root word calcify seems to invoke the idea of stagnation, becoming rigid. And yet here I am a fire that burns anywhere I please in a shape that is always changing 🔥.

As Valla-Chan / Valla-Chan, I used to be working on a full-game conversion mod for Portal 2 called Valhalla, and later into its development I started transitioning, and made a user name that vaguely rhymed with my name (Allison) and involved my current project.... along with being obviously made by a weebish teenager... It just kinda stuck lol.

And as for 'Allison Ghost', its similar to my actual name but pulls from the detachment ive felt towards my own life since pretty much forever, and my relation from that to ghost character in media (particularly The Ring and Spirited Away)

I went by "HeadCrabbed" in online spaces because something about the concept of parasite control and the idea of self drew me in.

My fear of going by my dead name online meant my online friends would refer to me as "HC" (short for headcrab) I used the rhyming of that a bit when adapting my username into something a bit more unique "ToastyCrab"

I realise now my chosen name "Hayley" was influenced by going by HC so I'm forever slightly tied to a fps game whoops

Love the headcrab and hands. How did you make those?

Tysm :) The claws are articulated plastic claws coated in sculpted foam clay

The headcrab is made from eva foam cut to a scuffed template I threw together from HL:A's headcrab model with a layer of sculpted foam clay over the top.

The crab is currently on display In Croydon at a hobby themed exhibition but visitors beware she's beaked and potentially not harmless
