PERHAPS there’s a law somewhere out there about losing one’s patient but there’s certainly none in Santa Ysabel. Truly the people here are a sight to behold and if chasing a naked woman who escaped from the back of his ambulance isn’t an indication of just how wild it can get in the city, then Angelo dares anyone to find something much crazier than that. Add on to the fact that it doesn’t even break his top five of the week.
He’s sprinting down the sidewalk and no one’s even bothered to try and help him out. Angelo can’t really blame them. Even he’s having a hard time grasping at the notion that he probably would have to tackle the bitch. Once he feels a leg cramp coming on, he yells out to the nearest passerby for some assistance.
“Hey! You! Trip her!”
The appeal of Santa Ysabel is also it’s greatest downfall. At least that’s how it is in Wynters eyes. It had been a couple of years since she moved. Which normally would make someone well adjusted to their new town. Not in this case. The city always felt like it was on the edge of exploding. If it did, no one would be surprised. That’s why her guard is always up. Too many variables. Too many chances for things to go wrong.
It seemed like a relatively quiet day. Until she decided to take a walk in her brand new docs. The worst part about them was the break in period. Worth it in the end but painful in the beginning. Kind of like a slow burn romance. As Wyn made her way to the local coffee shop she saw what appeared to be a streaker running in her direction. The voice that came after made her want to smile and possibly ring someones neck at the same time. Without a second thought she stuck her foot out.
“You owe me twenty bucks. If my boot is scuffed we can negotiate what favor you owe me especially since you couldn’t bother to remember my name.”
