First of six absorption traps. I neglected to take photos while I cobbled this together but I will post construction details and do an A/B test when I am done to see how well they work. They are 6" deep and made with Roxul Safe and Sound inside an open aluminum frame and covered with acoustically transparent fabric.
Catching Breath
I’ve been busy hacking away at eurorack modules in my sister blog loudshow.tumblr.com
I have not spent much time in the studio, as a result. But, looking at the space some more, I’ve come up with a few ideas for improving the overall sound quality of the space, itself. I’ll post as I build, but it looks like I’ll be building some absorption into the front walls and making some 1D QRD for the rear wall, as well as beefing up bass trapping on corner surfaces to try to tame the space better and make a great listening environment as well as a better tracking environment. Stay tuned.

Rewiring a PRS. Painted the cavity with shielding paint, added copper foil tape to the cover plate, cleaned pots and fixed the coil tap wiring.
One shiny new pair of matched 6L6GCs for my Fender Pro Amp. The power tubes had started to make some noises and I realized it was time to swap them out for a fresh set.
First pass at a backup script for Cakewalk Sonar. Eventually this will look up some directories in registry keys and back those dirs into dated folders along with the registry key exports. This will hopefully be the beginnings of a system I can use to sync my configs between laptop and desktop and ensure restores are painless.
