Zen Buddhism

I recently began learning about Zen. I came across the idea of Zen in a book titled "Zen and the Art of Happiness" by Chris Prentiss. Going through some "tough" times recently, the ideas behind Zen helped me, to say the least. Some key ideas of Zen are that we, as humans, are all one. We are all one with the universe. Everything that the universe throws our way is for our complete and utter benefit. Happiness and sadness are not contained in an event itself. Rather happiness, or lack thereof, comes simply from our feelings and beliefs about whatever event we are facing at the current moment in our life. The main idea behind Zen is to live in the HERE and NOW.

I like the ideas and beliefs behind Zen Buddhism very much because it empowers you to let go of negativity, embrace the here and now, and realize that we are all apart of something bigger.
