This side blog started out as a Style Savvy overflow blog and it will continue to be one, but it's also an Infinity Nikki side blog.

However! I don't interact with IN fandom at large I just follow a couple people lol. I am a Faewish Sprite and Piecey enjoyer and I really like the story.

Retcon aside I do not tolerate IN story slander!!! Don't compare the visual novel format of Shining's story with 3D platform / exploration adventure format of Infinity's!!!! Different gameplay genre call for different ways to tell stories and I will defend IN's story!!! Bye!!!

Since the start of the year I've been on VGen commissioning so many drawings of Avicinda (and other characters), I thought I'd finally share all of them here with you guys so you can all enjoy them as much as I have! gonna be a while before I get around to the new patch since I wanna finish some Infinikki fics I've been working on first, but I did make a new outfit!

Don't remember if Nikki talked about inspiration in 2.2 and 2.5 but if she did, then I'm dumb and forgetful lol. But this made me nostalgic for the times when she did this whenever the story unlocked a miracle outfit node in 1.0 ywy

I see that the miracle outfit nodes also unlocked, so I'm guessing this is the only time in this patch where she mentions inspiration ...

The SoS is where all timelines intersect, makes sense that the Nikki who saw the end of time becomes the keeper of it, and helps guide the Nikkis of other timelines to not go that path, and keep true to herself.

I do miss Ena. The story that gives you the Silvergale makes that point to Nikki that part of the pain of the Heart is that you start to lose yourself, so you must hold on to yourself.

I think I had other thoughts in the past but I have to go to work. But it's probably in my Nikki tag.

From the start, 2.0 has carried a strong feeling of "this cannot be the natural continuation/original direction that was meant to follow 1.0/.x without being a hard pivot due to feedback", and I guess I only just worked out why.

It's because 1.0/1.x storylines are so very much about life after the gods have died and all the big heroic figures have gone away. What does that mean for the people left behind who still pray to a god who can't answer? Or to the people who carry those heroes' legacies on their shoulders?

And so often the answer involved seeking community with the people around you and gaining strength from your fellow mortals. Most of the antagonists were people consumed with obsession who then made a deal with an agent of the dark—the perversion of a prayer being answered, essentially.

But it's also fairly nuanced about gods and people's faith in them. Nikki may be blessed by the Wishing One, but she still mainly uses her own strength and comes together with friends to solve problems.

2.0 and 2.x have gone hard on the power of gods and making Nikki a saintess and in doing so doesn't really let Nikki "step down" from a pedestal to form community with the new people she encounters.

This is also why I think that the Seer should represent a Bad Ending for Nikki.

Becoming a god changes you and your perspective and your ability to connect with people and the world around you. Nikki should never become an actual god because it takes away the point of her being a very very determined person–stronger than most people and special in other ways sure, but still just a person who wants to save Miraland so much she is willing to do whatever it takes, all without compromising who she is at her core.

That means something. The solution to saving Miraland from all its problems later down the line cannot be "just become a god".

You just end up with the Seer again.

And gods should also stay dead. Don't bring any of them back. It cheapens everything that 1.0 and 1.x stood for.
