To help you practice pairing typefaces!
A font is what you use, a typeface is what you see.

Simple message. Great minimalist design. Found at visual news. -Danny
Sometimes the very best designs are those that strip away all that is unnecessary, all fluffy decoration, and leave us with a simple message that speaks to the human condition. Christopher David Ryan’s (aka CDR) work does just that.

Such a pretty puppy! I found a kitty version of this a while ago...
i love this idea. The artist used real people and photo manipulation to recreate these portraits of our childhood princesses! =)
Legalities of designing
Tonight I'm working on a new project that involves me doing my research on the legalities of using a typeface. It sounds tricky, but I don't want to violate any copyrights or steal anyone else's work as I begin to trod into the world of the paid designers.
I love typography--almost as much as I love color theory. As it is, I want to avoid being sued for any rules I don't know about. =)
realistically, most foundries will allow you usage so long as the font itself is not redistributed (i.e. create outlines).

You don't have a font manager? GET ONE. It'll save your computer from trying to boot up all your fonts at once. And save you a lot of time.

This poor graphic Tee designer is getting some serious flac for this.
World (but more specifically, designers)--MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR!
“There is no progress in art, any more than there is progress in making love. There are simply different ways of doing it.”
Man Ray
To avoid getting the "missing font" error, just turn all your type into objects by "expanding" them.
