I’m an Undertale fan, but if another Undertale fan were possessing me I’d also find it insufferable torture.

Of course Kris Deltarune hates us. Not because we’re possessing them, no, because we’re Undertale fans.
I’m an Undertale fan, but if another Undertale fan were possessing me I’d also find it insufferable torture.
This was going to be fully drawn, but then it took me a whole day to do just the one panel, and that was already pushing my rule about joke posts, I.E. if it takes actual effort, you’re doing it wrong. So you get a mostly sprite based comic instead.
Never come up with dialogue when you’re tired. But also, only ever come up with puns while you’re tired, that way they actually sound funny.
I will be dead and buried in the ground the day I don’t ramble nonsensically in a post, so here is the backstory for this idea: That Kris and Susie would absolutely shoplift from Sans’ store, especially after chapter 4. Then I went with thinking up how it would be funny in the world of Deltarune. Sans wouldn’t care, he’d just want something to laugh about later, hence the pictures, I’ve seen the watermelon-pregnancy gag somewhere before so I stole it shamelessly. It’s a very small town where everyone knows each other so no one would buy an overnight pregnancy like that. Next thing I know I’m searching up cheesy pregnancy pictures. I considered adding another gag where Sans says he caught on because everyone knows humans reproduce via mitosis, but how many static shots of Sans’ store can one put up with for a few more text boxes? And then I threw in the last panel right when I thought I was already finished, an hour after I should already be asleep. On a related note, this is where I learned “Baba” can be used as a term for a non-binary parent, though there were a lot of different titles to choose from.
I actually had a third drawn picture(technically the first) that had Susie on her knees and kissing Kris’s “belly” but realized I had screwed up the proportions and made Susie way too small, or perhaps made Kris too tall. Didn’t feel like redrawing it so scrapped that one. Which is a shame, I thought the line art I had was one of the better ones at the point I stopped, and I felt it added more variety to the poses since the ones I finished came out looking pretty similar. I also limited myself to just using the color palettes from the games sprites for the drawings, which led to a bit of funky shading, because outside of their faces, Susie and Kris’ sprites don’t have any shading to them to pull color from. It did make coloring them in easy, though! Kris is becoming one of my new favorite characters to draw, they have basically no facial features!
(Don’t take me having Kris play the pregnant role as me saying anything regarding Kris’s sex[I believe the canon answer to Kris being asked “what’s in your pants” is “God, I wish it were Susie…”], them being in the role is just another part of the gag seeing as Susie is right there and could have played the role herself.)
Oh, also, just the drawing, no Toriel text box.
It’s kinda funny how Ralsei doesn’t think the prophecy can be changed(even if he hopes it can) when it’s been implied everyone on the team wasn’t chosen by fate to even be the heroes to begin with, they all just kind of inserted themselves or were inserted by others into the role. Kris inserted themself by taking the place of our vessel, Susie has been implied to not be the original girl, Noelle might have been, but Susie was simply placed into the position due to whatever nebulous fate awaits at the end of the prophecy, and Ralsei basically up and decided to be the Prince from the Dark World because someone had to. Lancer is more of a Prince of the Darkness than Ralsei is in that he actually came from a royal family… not even sure how that works with Darkners, seeing as they’re inanimate objects given life in the dark, but I’m pretty sure Ralsei doesn’t even have parents.
He could literally subvert the prophecy by just coming out of the closet, too. Flowery had a point, praying for a change isn’t doing much for him when he could snap the prophecy in half by just accepting herself. Or maybe him/herself, I’m very much on board for gender-fluid Ralsei who can be both a prince and a princess.
I wonder if a plot point of one of the future chapters of Deltarune will be Susie finding out she is just a video game character. That she is just as unreal as Ralsei and the Darkners are, and that the entire world was created by a dork who uses an annoying dog as his in-world avatar, and she is being toyed with, for good or for ill, by a player. A player who might see her as a toy, or might see her as much of a person as she does Ralsei. Is her finding out proof she can fight fate, be a real person despite being in a game, or was she always destined to learn due to it being part of the story she’s in?
… might be best it doesn’t tackle it, knowing Toby Fox, he’d somehow find a way to program the game to make Susie real and leap out of the screen to beat up the Player so she can decide her own fate. I like my teeth where they are.
I was thinking about real life pirate Stede Bonnet again, as one does. You may know him from the hit show “Our Flag Means Death” which I started and never finished, as is tradition. Anyway, one true fact the show portrayed was that Stede was a well read man who offered his library of books to his crew… who he was then astounded to learn couldn’t read. So, instead, he’d read to his crew. What a sweetheart. I drew inspiration for my drawing off of this shot from the show, actually.
Anyway, while thinking about that, it made me think of another piece of pirate media I enjoy, and that is One Piece. This kind of gag, Luffy having everyone get together on the deck to have Robin read them a bedtime story, seemed like it would fit nicely into the first third or so of the series, between Skypiea and Water Seven. The Live Action series has done wonders to respark my interest in the series after I took a break from reading it week by week midway through Egghead. I love the first half of OP, it’s just peak anime, and while it never got bad, I do feel the current OP misses a lot of the old charm the first half had. I think the cast just got too big and the focus on the crew interactions has suffered.
My drawing is more shadow and shading practice, and this time I got to play with the lighting. As is usual, please don’t look too closely at the hands and faces, I am never happy with those. I legit drew Sanji’s face 5 times before settling.
I wonder how many of the crew are functionally illiterate? Like, none of them actually canonically are, but it’s funny to think about. Luffy was taught the basics, but can’t read past a 1st or 2nd grade level. Zoro swears he isn’t illiterate, he just gets lost in the words, it’s not his fault the letters get all jumbled. Sanji was raised in a cell and then by a pirate chef who was also functionally illiterate, he can only read menus and cookbooks because he recognizes those words. Brook can read music, but can’t read anything else because he’s got no eyes! Skull joke!
Wait, what is Robin reading for everyone? Enhance!
“The Liar Noland?” Wait… something’s fishy.. ENHANCE!
Wait, no, Robin, put that down, Nooooo!
Anyone remember me from back when I was writing Sukko stuff in the LWA fandom back in 2018, long before this tumblr account existed? This pairing got me back into writing I loved it so much, and while I don’t necessarily look back at those fics as an example of amazing writing, I’m still really happy to have contributed them to the relatively small fandom, and an even smaller pairing.
I mentioned in my last post that it was meant to be line-less, but I could quite grasp that yet. Well, now I can! Sorta. Really helped to think of the individual parts as pieces of construction paper I was cutting out and stacking, rather than paint or stuff like that. Digital layers confuse me… So if your way of thinking isn’t working, change it to something dumber, and if it works, it wasn’t dumb!
I made a version with Akko having an eye open, but was never happy enough with the eye, and changed it to both eyes closed. It’s here if ya wanna see it, though.
Someone recently told me in a comment on one of my fics that they liked my rambling author’s notes that broke down my creative process, and that it made writing seem much more manageable, so I thought maybe I’d do that for a bit here, too.
Here was basically the first two hours of me drawing. I used references from the anime and game, both for size and shape, as well as color. Then I just started blocking things out, bit by bit until I was happy with the shapes. Once I had the basics, I would add or remove from them to get them a bit more detailed, which you can sorta see with Akko’s hair.
From there, I could start adding the shading to help add depth, and spent a good chunk of time just doing that. Then I did the faces. Then I got stuck figuring out the rest of the shading and hated everything and myself for a while, as is tradition among artists, figured out what I wanted, and kept on going.
Finally I just stole borrowed a background image from the show itself and shoved it behind my own drawing and that is the long winded way of showing you my process. Please hang it on the fridge.
I really love this. I get the sense this takes place after Surge messed up big time, and Shadow has taken her off for a scolding, one mad science project to another. He’s furious, she knows he is furious, but he’s pondering just how much grace he should show the Tenrec in front of him due to her having a similar origin as himself, but with far less guidance than he ever got. Ultimately, I don’t think he’ll go easy on her at all, and will tear her down so that she never makes whatever mistake she did again.
… well, now I kinda want Surge to find a stern mentor in Shadow.
Now that the Megaman Starforce collection is out, let’s talk about Starforce 2, the game that is frequently cited by fans as the game that dealt a killing blow to the entire Megaman franchise as a whole.
This is, of course, hyperbole, SF2 was just one one of many straws that would atomize the camels back, but the idea does have merit. SF2 just isn’t that good a game, despite being dripping with potential.
Its encounter rate is trough the roof, the characters got flanderized, and the plot is… honestly, pretty good for the first half. And even the second half has potential, it just squanders it.
I really like the idea of globe trotting to save your friends. But the way you get to these locations, the skywave, suuuucks. And then the locations themselves are underwhelming. Whazzap is like, 2 areas you walk back and forth between and a dungeon, stretched into an amnesia plot line that just won’t end.
And not tying Le Mu to the overall space alien based plot of these games is just… it was right there. It’s based off of Ra Moon the alien super computer from the classic series spinoff game, it could have been revealed to be a powerful EM being, the opposite of Andromeda with the power of creation instead of destruction, and the game could have been about ancient aliens that formed the myths about yokai around the globe. It’s what the crazy man from the history channel would have wanted!
And then there is what they did to poor Sonia, and even worse, Pat and Rey. Sonia is made into an idiot who betrays Geo so that the villains won’t hurt him, and then the villains attack Geo anyway, and she still keeps siding with the villains despite this. It’s dumb, and I hate it, and the dungeon for that area is awful, they could get rid of it and it’s be for the better. No one likes the Bahama Quadrangle anyway.
And for Pat… It’s uncomfortable ironic that the character with abandonment issues so powerful they created an antagonistic alternate personality to push people away before they could be potentially abandoned again was abandoned by the series shortly after finding a friend group who accepted them.
I’d have given Sonia an entirely unique area, and have Rey be the one who betrays Geo and sides with the bad guys. Rey himself would be a reoccurring character in the first half, Pat always tagging along with the group, and Rey chiming in, never getting along with anyone and just waiting for someone in their new friend group to stab Pat in the back so he can say “I told you so!” And then he gets his chance, and instead Geo comes to the rescue, they have their falling out, and Geo has to convince Rey that he’s as much a part of the group as Pat is, and they all care about both of them. That in the end, it’s not Pat waiting for his friends to abandon him, he had full faith in Geo the whole time, it’s Rey who is the one still hurting.
Instead, they just threw him in as a bonus boss in 2 and sidelined him entirely in 3, Bleh. Think of the potential of having Pat and Rey join the team during the Power Rangers/Sentai inspired plot of 3! Not to mention, they never got to meet Solo, but I already made a post about that.
It has to be uncomfortable sleeping next to a pincushion. Now Imagine the pincushion slept on you instead. You just know Tangle and Whisper never have to deal with this crap when they snuggle.
Probably my best piece of work yet. I broke my ankle 2 months ago, and have spent a lot of time artsy fartsying around while I recover. Mostly image editing, but I learned enough to improve my overall art skillz to drastically improve my work(I drew this while procrastinating on learning how to 3D model, so much art junk in my life right now) Just… don’t look too closely at the hands, I never want to draw those again. I took pictures of my own hands as reference, couldn’t make that work, traced over my own hands, and still am not happy with them. I hate hands.
I spent an inordinate amount of time making sure Lanolin’s boobs looked okay. My headcanon for why she’s got such a large bust for a Sonic character is that it really is mostly chest floof. I went into this wanting to do a picture completely devoid of line art, but I did not succeed and found that beyond my current skill. Maybe next time.
Back when I was drawing pictures for my Owl House fics a few years ago, I discovered a revolutionary shading technique only used by art pros. That’s right, just use black on a mostly transparent layer! … guess which technique I forgot about until I was 95% done with the shading on this pic? I am not a smart person… though, to be fair, no one is smart with boobs right in front of them.
Ever love a rare pair enough you actually take the time to practice drawing to make a low tier comic about it, just to add to the meager amount of shipping art? Look at poor Drippy, I didn’t even try with him, I just slapped together a pose based off his official reference art in a few minutes and called it a day!
I love this pairing, for reasons I can’t really describe? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but it doesn’t need to. I just think Lanolin needs someone to help remove the stick up her butt so she can have some fun, and Surge needs someone who can and will tell her “No, bad girl, down!”
Also, a bonus panel, because while drawing, I didn’t know if Surge had green or black eyelids. I drew her with green ones first, then checked, and it ended up reminding me of this meme.
I think I finally understand what Abstraction is in the Amazing Digital Circus. Episode 8 gave the final pieces to the puzzle. To recap, the episode more or less confirmed the SOMA theory. These are digital copies of people who put on the VR headset. Because it wasn’t a VR headset, it’s some kind of brain scan device that looks like a VR headset. This is not a game they’re in, C&A didn’t make games, Caine made it himself. Caine can manifest anything he can imagine. And so can the people inside the Circus. If you want it enough, and have the imagination for it, you can create or do anything (Which means Zooble didn’t want to have sex hard enough, apparently).
That’s what Abstraction is, it’s the manifestation of something the person Abstracting wanted, more than anything, and got, in a way.
We’re led to believe Abstraction happens to people who have just hit a mental breaking point, and snapped, going insane to the point of destabilizing. But Kinger has been fine for years, despite his mental unwellness. The man is not in his right mind 98% of the time. He needs a bucket on his head just to have a coherent thought. And he isn’t Abstracting, or showing any signs he ever will. Why does he appear to be the exception? Because he isn’t the exception. Jax almost Abstracted during a depressive episode, while thinking about his Abstracted friends. Kaufmo Abstracted after obsessing over an exit, finding Caine’s fake Exit door, and falling into despair on realizing there really wasn’t a way out. Scratch likely Abstracted after succumbing to guilt over the fate he doomed his friends and coworkers to, which was why he was the first to abstract, despite seemingly creating this technology to extend his life through digitization. Abstraction is manifested thoughts of suicide. You cannot die in the Digital Circus, or harm yourself, but you can still want it to end. But their mind files can’t delete themselves fully, because the mind has to exist to manifest the deletion in the first place. This results in an unstable, buggy mess of code instead of the person they used to be. All that remains of them is a ghost in the machine.
I love my Apeman son so much.
Since Netflix is removing She-Ra in January or something here’s a link to a Google drive with all five seasons <3
With a Starforce collection on the way, this makes the Legends collection inevitable. But what is left after that?
I want a Megaman Legacy Collection Collection. A collection of all the Megaman Collections bundled into one package. Throw in all the spin-off games that didn’t get added to the other collections, too. I want all ten bajillion Megaman games in one inconveniently sized package.
Due to Pat and Rey being shoved back into the garbage to be forgotten about after Star Force 1, we were robbed on seeing them meet Solo. We could have had edgy boy who is alone vs edgy boi who is literally never alone!
The scene was so vivid in my head, I had to create it in the only way I know how. With sprites ripped from a mid 2000s DS game.
Now, I’m not saying Pat and Rey would win against Solo. I’m saying that Rey wouldn’t pass up the chance to sucker punch him the moment he saw his chance.
(No, but seriously, we were robbed, pilfered, purloined, and absolutely stolen from by not getting to see these two interact. Solo believes in no bonds whatsoever, meanwhile Pat and Rey are two people in the same body. It writes itself, people!)
Megaman High School AU, but they’re all still robots, it’s just that instead of Doctor Wily being a genocidal maniac, he’s instead a spiteful soccer mom type who’s constantly wanting his kids to one up Light’s kids at everything. So almost just as evil as he is in canon.
Bass has let his father’s toxic attitude influence his behavior, and thinks he’s better than everyone else, throwing himself into every sport the school has to prove it. You’d think he was on the other team with how he views his own teammates as opposition.
Meanwhile, Zero is over whatever is Wily’s problem and has a much chiller, healthier relationship towards the Lightbots, with a mild rivalry with X.
Rock is on the school’s soccer team. Had to throw in a Megaman Soccer joke somewhere. Do people remember that was a game? It was a game.
