Loki is not evil. Following Loki does not make you evil.
To me, Loki is my Father, my Parent. He has always been there for me, always supported me, even when I was going through hell in my personal life. He never gave up on me, even in my darkest moments where all I did was try to push Him away. He comforted me through panic attacks, through flashbacks, through depressive episodes, even after everyone else had left my to “figure it out” by myself. When I was going through an intense period of emotional and spiritual abuse, He never stopped trying to warn me, trying to protect me, trying to console me, and trying to help me. When I’ve forgotten how to smile, He had always reminded me; when I’ve shamed, blamed, and loathed myself, He had always given me every reason to feel good about myself; when I’ve dealt with the aftermath of escaping my abuser, He had always gone out of His way to show me that I was protected, loved, and better off for leaving. On my own journey of self-love and self-care, Loki has walked alongside me every step of the way, stopping or slowing down when I couldn’t keep up, helping me to stand back up whenever I’ve fallen down, and being a shoulder to cry on when the journey got too difficult or discouraging. He has helped me to face and accept the hardest truths in my life, He has helped me to discern when someone is a good or bad influence in my life, and He has helped me to ground myself when the world was nothing but unstable and overwhelming.
Despite what some people may believe, Loki is not evil. Morally grey, sure, but not evil. You’re entitled to your own opinions and such, but please consider that Loki would not have any followers if He was just this Being of malice and destruction. His myths paint Him negatively, yes, but myths and stories should not be treated as the “Bible” of Pagan/Polytheist practice and devotion. It’s important to note that even the Prose Edda - an ancient text written by Snorri Sturluson - was written from a Christian perspective as a way to aid in peacefully integrating both Christian and Pagan beliefs, as Snorri, himself, was a Christian, so the myths He tells have many Christian elements to them. Loki was often demonized, but it’s important to note that, traditionally speaking, Norsefolk depicted just about every Deity as being morally grey and flawed (They are still GODS; do not disrespect Them for Their flaws and mistakes please), so the depiction of Loki being the ONLY God to make mistakes and learn from them is just straight-up false.
Even if you literally hate Loki with every ounce of your being, that doesn’t give you an excuse to spread hateful things about Him and His followers. Please be respectful of the fact that, just like you and your Gods, people actually follow and devote themselves to Loki. There are many people out there who love Him quite dearly, and it’s disrespectful to us Lokeans to shit on the God we worship. If we’re not shitting on you, bro, please don’t shit on us. Thank you. <3
