♡ MAMA. ♡
A laugh, as though that would be the most ridiculous thing in the world. Batty old Myrtle Snow, inflicting actual repercussions. “Oh, I’d like to see her try.” She obliges to kick off her heels, one then the other, letting them drop onto the carpet. “I wouldn’t call it trouble, it was… a little mix-up, really. Myrtle hasn’t got any room to get her feathers ruffled, anyhow. Her spells are starting to slip—she’s losing her touch. Serves her right for not keeping her magic up like she should.” …A cautionary tale, perhaps? “I don’t suppose you’ve any reason to worry about that, have you? Your power is all… tuned-up?” Brow arched in defiance, though her gaze is absent, idly examining her manicure. “…Because there’s sort of a little witches’ retreat coming up before Halloween, and I thought you might want to go with me. It’ll be refreshing, and I think you could use it.”
hands come up in surrender, a breath is drawn. she loves her mother, she really does -- she just wishes that she’d exercise some damn CAUTION. at least once every fifty years or so. ❛ please, mama, i don’t even want to know what it was. just -- be CAREFUL, is all i’m saying. ❜ a daughter can only WORRY so much about her mother’s escapades and bianca has near about reached maximum capacity for maternal anxiety.
speaking of anxiety -- bianca tenses. a conversation she is far from prepared to have but she’ll disguise it all with a STRAINED breeziness. her smile aims for casual but ends up a little pained looking -- like she’s just realized that she’s sat in gum but is too proud to admit it. oh -- i don’t think i -- she needs to put some DISTANCE between her and fiona before she admits this particular truth. so she moves into the kitchen, busying herself with a great deal of nothing & calling back into the living room as she does. ❛ well i don’t think i can. it’s just not...conducive...to what i am...presently trying to accomplish. ❜ sufficiently vague. she’s happy with the reply, strained as it was. she’s never been good at lying or avoiding things.
