Have you ever been this bored?
Gilmore Girls Revival
I know no one cares and probably no one will read it, but I have no friends who feel passionately about it whom I can discuss it with for hours so, I need to type it down.
I’ve been a fan of GG ever since I saw an episode about 15 years ago, so I was expecting the revival with tons of excitement but also scared of what they would do to the fantasy ending I have imagined all these years.
It was amazing to see our beloved characters once again (I tried but fail to see the episodes weekly instead of binge watching), even small characters from early seasons were there, everything looked the same, but it wasn’t at the same time.
-Major spoilers ahead-
So I’ll start at the ending, Rory is pregnant, and I don’t even know if she is sure who the father is, she was in a steady relationship of 2-3 years at the same time she was sleeping around with an engaged Logan and also had a one night stand, I guess is Logan’s and I hate it, just when she was mature enough to say ‘stop’. I have so many problems with that, first of all, she got pregnant? I understand she is not a teenager like her mom was, and those things happen, but I would had expected better from her. And that takes me to the second problem, Rory having a boyfriend of two years and cheating him left and right without serious remorse. I understand he was used as a comic relief, and she really didn’t love him, but when the series started they had been together for 2 years, he met her family even if no one remembered him, and she was sleeping with Logan every time she went to London (who pay for her trips, him? Ugh Rory…), he also had a girlfriend, that we later find out was his fiancé. And when Lorelai finds out she is not even shocked, she is hearing her daughter -who has a boyfriend- is sleeping with an engaged guy and all she cares is that ‘Didi’ didn’t exist, OK Rory is 32 not 20 like she was when she was Dean’s other woman, but still I didn’t like she was so fine with whole double cheating thing.
I need to bent about other thing, the life and death brigade thing was extremely cringe worthy!! the slow motion camera, the smoke, the costumes, The Beatles song it was just too much (just as that 15 minutes long musical, why lose precious minutes with our favourite characters for that?)!
I liked that Rory was struggling in the job area because it’s a reality, but also the 30 something gang could have acted less stupid.
And the Dragon Fly inn had all those celebrity chefs? Really? Reeeeaaally?
Other really stupid thing was the whole Bertha and her family thing, Emily caring about them and allowing them to live there was good, it showed us how lonely she was, but the woman’s wig, the behaving and speaking weird no English at all (nor Spanish apparently) was too much.
The Luke Lorelai arc I liked, I would have like if it didn’t took them 8 years to get married, because that was the reason they broke up 9 years ago, because it was about damn time to do it and he kept pushing it. But they finally did it and it was great, what takes me to another thing, if anyone would ask me who would be the people Lorelai would invite to her kinda eloping wedding I would had never guessed Michell and Laine, I understand it probably was because schedule things with the cast, but if Melissa was going to do one scene it should’ve been that, think about it, Lorelai walks pass her house on her route to getting married and sees the lights on, she gets closer and sees Sookie working on her wedding cakes, the same conversation happens but this time when they hug and say they are still best friends she tells her to go and be her bridesmaid. Then before the wedding Michell tells her the all the things and Sookie says ‘I’m back’, instead of ‘I have granola’ for him to smile. Jess also attends the wedding instead of Lane and he and Rory look at each other just like they did on The Bracebridge dinner.
Another thing, the first time we see Jess and Rory talk they hadn’t see each other for 4 years, and they don’t even shake hands? Kiss on the cheek? Hug? Are they animals? LOL was it on Alexis’ contract to not have to touch Milo again? (Another fanfic moment, when she tells him about the book, she asks how long he’s staying to see if he’ll have time so they can talk about it <because you know he has published books and reads> and he says ‘I’ll make time for you’, or something cheeky like that, she blushes ‘great’ and gets inside).
Everything else was great, Paris, still Paris, would’ve been nice to see her and Doyle worked things out, but doesn’t really matter. Everything about Richard was really sad and moving, I cried, I laughed, I felt inspired and melancholic.

Candid photographs like these make me recreate an animation in my head of that moment: What does her laugh sound like? Did he pull her up on his first try, or did she have to jump a couple times? The person most likely smiling behind the camera…
These 50 creepy vintage photographs from the early 20th century will make your skin crawl.
Still less creepy than Trump, oh sorry! Than the elected president of the U.S.

Don’t know why but, every time I see a woman with lips like Candice or Natalie Dormer something inside me dislikes them.
