i haven't posted in a while because i switched from reading with my eyes to using a screen reader while doing other things, which makes it a lot harder to keep up with a bingo board while reading... but i'm not gone, just a bit busy. hopefully i can get back to making more soon! i've been reading a ton (over 2 million new words in january, along with copious rereads), so i have a LOT to choose from when i'm able to get back into it
anyway, i'm also working on writing my own fic and i'm really excited about it
it's an established minsung fic, fluffy, minimal drama, no angst, very soft. Jisung is nonverbal and kept kind of private (only really in edited content, and works on music), but then ends up going more public with the other members and public perception of him keeps changing
partially based on my own lived experiences, so it's a concept i'm really attached to <3
i've never written fic before so a little encouragement would be appreciated if anyone finds that concept interesting

I want to talk a little bit about what I'm doing here
I'm starting this little Minsung Bingo project to share fics I personally really enjoyed reading, as a form of recommendation above anything else. I want to share fics I love so other people can find them too, in a slightly different way than just linking them.
I'm not going to be making boards for fics I don't enjoy, because I stop reading and move on to something I do enjoy rather than focus on one I don't.
The bingo boards are a fun way I made to track various tropes, themes, common situations, and things that get mentioned in fics - getting more or less bingos, or more or less checkmarks, has nothing to do with the actual quality of the work, it's more like a fun way to show if something is included but may not be mentioned in tags, and it could be a way to check if a fic might be one you'd be interested in (or not!)
Any rereadability or personal ratings are specifically about enjoyment and comfort - is this a story I would read again and again? Or is it something that's worth reading, but maybe wouldn't be something I would want to read again (such as something really sad but beautiful)?
I'm not critiquing or rating writing skill, grammar, structure, characterization, plot, or anything like that - it's specific to how much I enjoyed my time reading (and re-reading) the story. I read and enjoy fics with "bad grammar", with plot issues, factual errors, with characters that aren't accurate/ similar to how they're generally portrayed, but the thing that matters is if it's fun to read and if it's able to be understood. Language is about communication, and if I understand what's written, that's what counts.
The entire point here is just that I want to share fics I love, and give a fun way for others to see if they may also be interested in reading them. I'm not going to be critical of writers and I'm really hopeful that these bingo boards help get more views on fics I've loved reading! It's essentially a recommendation list, with extra effort for no reason (okay, bingo board sounds more fun than spreadsheet)
I want to support writers who are spending time writing about things they love, making stories for the rest of us to enjoy. None of this is about discouraging anyone, or making anyone feel bad.

I'm 30 and trans-masc (they/them). I'm pan-ace and intersex, and AuDHD. I have a degree in linguistics and I'm an artist.
I've been on tumblr since 2010, and my main blog has over 150,000 posts (despite not being active for the past 6 or so years), so it's fair to say I've been around for a while. I'm newer to Stray Kids, and my AO3 account is new (I requested to join in 2020 and then somehow forgot to actually finish making an account until 2025 lol), but I'm not new to fandom by any means.
I'm someone who can't choose favorites (I have 50+ favorite movies, and even choosing those 50 would be hard), if I enjoy something, it's good. I had fun watching the 4th Matrix, so it's a good movie in my eyes. That has nothing to do with the quality of the movie and everything to do with my enjoyment of the time I spent watching it. This is how I "rate" pretty much all media.
I've read 50+ Minsung fics the past month or so (many short, 30k or less, some 70-100k+), and spent a decent amount of time making the bingo board. I'm sad I can't include everything I want to, but that would make it less like bingo and also a ridiculously large list to work with. Leaving things out doesn't mean I don't like those things or that something isn't common, I just had to make some choices about what I wanted to prioritize.
There's 25 squares, each with 7 checkbox items. One box checked counts for the entire square, but even checking off every single box doesn't mean a fic is "good", and not hitting any doesn't mean a fic is "bad". It does make it a little easier if you know your favorite things in Minsung fics, so you can quickly see if something is included or not, but it really is just a fun little way to keep track of what happens in different fics.
fanfiction is a rare gem and a solid, living proof that, in a world of tiktok, influencers and content posting, not everything is about money and going viral. art can still be art just for the sake of the artists’ pure love, joy and passion for the art they create. fanfic writers write 100k words and more about the characters they love for free. just because they love these characters and the art of writing so much. art is not dead and the world is still beautiful.

“You poor thing,“ a voice spoke, and it sounded too familiar. “What did that mean dog do to you?“
Arms scooped him up, and his eyes didn’t want to focus on his surroundings. But when Jisung inhaled, he froze. He knew that smell. Knew that cologne, that underlying musk.
