I’ve been off Tumblr for months but thought I’d swing by to share some great Garak, Bashir, Garashir memes I’ve collected recently.

Here’s to all my boys with love handles, stretch marks, ribs that show, who feel they are too big or too small, who feel “unmanly,” who have cellulite, who can’t grow facial hair, who can’t seem to gain weight or lose it, who feel “too short” or wish they looked like a male model. Y'all matter. Love you. 💕
This reassures me very much. :D
Reblogging this twice because it fucking MATTERS
here’s to my boys with acne, disabilities, physical abnormalities- you’re amazing and we love you. keep being you, man.
Rating DS9 Comics by How Well They Draw Julian Bashir
TNG/DS9 Divided We Fall #2 (Wildstorm Comics)
This is fine, I guess. It’s not good, but I’m not personally offended by it. I appreciate the shiny anime eyes, but that is not Julian’s skintone (which will be a common theme.) 4/10 do better
The Q Conflict #4 (IDW)
The point of this series is that crews are pulled out of their own time - generally about the same time we knew them - and pulled into a sort of nether dimension. So why is Julian a full commander here. I’m all for promoting the boy but the crews in this series are meant to be from about the same time we knew them - note the teal shoulders. The face is…I’ve seen worse. More anime eyes and another bad case of whitewashing. +1 for being more pleasant art but -2 for whitewashing and bad rank research. 4/10.
Star Trek DS9 #3 (Marvel/Paramount)
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS. +1 I guess for him not being white but there is nothing acceptable about that face. 2/10.
Star Trek DS9 #27 (Malibu)
Bonus points for actually making him cute but minus a couple again for making him cute like a 1940s movie star and not like, well, Sid. I don’t like this but it doesn’t horrify my soul. 5/10 I guess.
Star Trek DS9: Fool’s Gold #2 (IDW)
You know what? I don’t hate this. There’s a certain aesthetic value that does seem to be present. Skin tone is okay. Let’s not talk about what they’ve done to Sisko, though. 6/10.
Star Trek: Waypoint #3 (IDW)
IT’S CUTE! It’s not an exact likeness, but it’s cartoony in a pleasing and cute way instead of being awful. +many points for getting the nose and skintone right. 9/10.
Star Trek DS9 #6 (Malibu)
WHO AND WHAT IS THIS UGLY WHITE MAN. 0/10. I AM ANGRY.
Star Trek DS9 Too Long a Sacrifice #1 (IDW)
The top panel is so much worse than the bottom one it’s hard to judge this fairly. This art almost feels like a weird filter over a screenshot. I kind of hate it, even though it’s not the most inaccurate. 3/10 because I hate it for no good reason.
Star Trek Special: Flesh and Stone (IDW)
This is another one that feels like it was traced, maybe? But traced badly. There’s features of his face that really make me feel like they traced this but just did a poor job of it. It does actually sort of look like Sid, though. 6/10.
Star Trek DS9 #18c/ Maquis: Soldier of Peace
Hey what the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK. I can’t say anything about the face because I’m looking at those pecs. What is this nonsense. 1/10 never draw Julian again please whoever drew this.
Star Trek: The Q Gambit
THE FACE! THE NOSE! THE GENTLE SPARKLE IN THE EYES! I think these are traced too but they’re so so pretty I don’t care. This is a Julian I want to kiss on the cheek. Look at that smile in the top panel! THAT’S MY BOY. 1000000/10.
Star Trek DS9: N-Vector #1 (Wildstorm)

Accurate reviews! Why can’t illustrators draw Julian?!?
so i accidentally came across this article about a ds9 comic released this year and there were some great garashir nuggets in there
“the genuine affection garak seemed to have for bashir” and “subtly showing how garak tried to protect bashir” got me good ngl
Just read the first 3 books of this comic today! I love it so far.

It was nearing two a.m. when Julian made it back to their quarters, his mood bright, basking in the memories of the day. It was not easy for him to forget. His mind was a mirror, constantly reflecting the reality around him. It took a lot for the images to blur, for him to be able to just enjoy himself. He’d had that today, and he was grateful. Kath had treated him to a whole day of hiking through the ice caves of Andor. They’d warmed up afterwards with an overpriced but non-replicated Aldebaran soup and fresh-baked bread from the Starbase’s only restaurant before meeting up with some of her friends at the bar.
It was a long night, and a loud one. If he hadn’t been enhanced he would have fallen asleep over his beer after suffering through the Klingon party the night before. That had been the other thing, the other reason he was humming quietly as he keyed in his entry code. His augmentations hadn’t come up, not even once. They’d talked about idiotic things and snorted beer out their noses, everyone eager to build a wall of forgetfulness to blot out the ugliness of war on display around them. Julian wondered if Kath had told her friends that they’d better be nice to the augment, or whether it genuinely didn’t bother them. Two drinks in, he decided he didn’t care much either way. Being treated as normal, especially when you knew you weren’t, wasn’t a thing to be questioned.
The door to his quarters slid open and Julian winced at the near tectonic hiss it made. Wondering if anything on the station worked right, he stepped inside.
Garak bolted upright.
Julian froze, staring at the highly illegal disruptor pointed straight at his head.

steven universe post-monster comic, now with two whole new pages! changed the format too. i’m not entirely satisfied with the many many pages i’ve drawn already (beyond just these two) but i think i’m going to just figure the minor details out as i go. this one’s going to be a bit talky.
Already amazing.
i drew the deleted scene from the script of s7e23 where quark visits odo since he thinks he’s going to die
Currently laughing my ass off

So now you know, Doctor. I hope I haven’t shattered too many of your illusions.
Cry every time.
One of the main things (among many) that I find so compelling about Elim Garak is that he's allowed to have a genuine redemption arc. We're never entirely sure what his crimes were, but we know he feels extreme, painful guilt about the role he played in the Occupation of Bajor. It doesn't matter what the specifics were; Garak has to overcome his guilt for himself.
And while on Deep Space 9, he forms real attachments to the crew and after a lot of struggling, he does the right thing over and over. He's instrumental in the war against the Dominion. He uses his knowledge of Cardassia to assist Starfleet. He uses his skills as a saboteur to lure the Romulans into the war on their side. He proves himself. He takes the terrible things he was trained to do - indoctrinated to do - and uses them to save the literal universe.
And in the end - this is the most important bit - he doesn't have to die to right his wrongs. After helping on the warfront, he goes back to a ravaged and broken Cardassia to help reform their way of life. Having a character build something new will always be more appealing to me than dying because they did bad things in the past.
Garak is a damn-near perfect embodiment of how a redemption arc should go and it's a fucking shame television today doesn't seem very interested in that kind of story anymore.
This is pure church. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

not so much DS9 fanart as ‘exactly what happens in the show’
Writing this historical Irondad and Spiderson historical au has become my passion! I’ve become absolutely engrossed in developing it. Please consider reading it!
I have finished the first story in the series and am more than halfway finished writing the second story.
The premise is: at the turn of the 20th Century, Peter Parker is a tender-hearted ceramics apprentice trapped in a contract with a mistrustful and skinflint master. Tony Stark discovers his talent by accident and grows unspeakably fond of him.
They begin to take an important role in each other’s lives. And their friends and family begin to become one cohesive group.
This series spans five stories and will chronicle their relationship as they learn about each other and themselves.
There is a very slow burn non-binary theme and a strong focus on found family, generosity, trust, and tenderness. So, check it out on my AO3:

Chapter Six of “You’ll Rise Up, Free and Easy” is posted!
Chapter Summary:
Jarvis’s health is failing. While Peter waits helplessly at his home, Tony has taken Jarvis back to the cottage in Long Island to spend his last hours.
The cottage is more than Jarvis’s home, however. It was Ana’s. And, in many ways, it was Tony’s. It was the beginning and ending of many important paths in his life.
This chapter highlights the far-reaching power of father-child bonds.

With Jarvis’s life ending, how will Tony cope with the loss now that he’s grown up?

In the present, Tony shows signs of the man Jarvis knew he could be. Facing the death of the man whom he needed his entire life, Tony has the chance to resist the unhealthy coping methods of his past.

My most current story is something I’ve never written before: a romance. This is an attempt because I believe that the romance and sexuality of these two characters together shapes other, larger parts of the main narrative. They learn together and support each other.
This story is only the beginning of their romance; I would write more if it becomes needed.
I would encourage you to read “You’ll Rise Up, Free and Easy” along with this.
Summary: Samuel “Pepper” Potts visits his boyhood friend, Tony Stark, for his eighteenth birthday. Seven years have passed since they formed an important friendship— a friendship kept alive through correspondence, even across the U.S.-Canadian border, throughout their adolescences.
In writing these letters, Pepper and Tony revealed more about themselves to each other, becoming increasingly vulnerable with each other. However, what is the true difference that distance makes in an intimate relationship? Both young men find themselves challenged by the proximity of the other.
Their friendship may well shatter.
Read Chapter One on AO3.
Chapter Two
Summary: As an adolescent, Tony’s only reliable source of candid, meaningful knowledge was Mrs. Ana, his governess and mother figure. Because of his trust, he brings a very sensitive topic to her.
Read Chapter Two here.
Chapter Three
Chapter Four: “Tony: Paramore”
Read the chapter here.

Gosh, I love this.
Okay, so I was curious about how much I had written for Irondad so I went to Ao3 and did some math.
Altogether (not including the drabbles and such that are only on tumblr) I have written 1,202,969 words in stories for the Irondad fandom!
Then I did some extensive research (one google search because I’m dedicated to the truth) and found that that average novel is around 80,000 words. So I did more math (divided my total word count by average novel length), and I found that since April of 2018 (so in about 2 years) I have written the equivalent of 15 novels holy shit ya’ll!!!!
SO I was wondering, for other writers, how many novels have you written in your fandom!!?? Can this be a tag game? I want to make a tag game! So I’m going to tag some people that I think might be up for it!
@keep-a-bucket-full-of-stars @ironxprince @doctornineandthreequarters @itsreallylaterightnow @romeoandjulietyouwish @fourdaysofrain @hailing-stars @blondsak if you guys would like to do this!
Ooh sounds fun! In the last 17 months, I posted 350,434 words to Ao3, the equivalent of four novels! Awesome! Now I’m interested in seeing the word count for all my drabbles… I’m going to look into that.
@day-dreamer176 @hold-our-destiny @shadedrose01 and anyone else, if you’d like to try! 💕
in the last year and a half, i’ve written 52,950 words (including scrabbles) so it’s nearly three quarters of a novel! i’m definitely planning more stuff to post this year.
@baloobird @romeoandjulietyouwish @canonismybitch and anyone who wants to join!
Since starting on the IronDad fandom I’ve written approximately 35k words for the fandom (published) if we’re counting Voltron, the number goes up to approximately 41k so that means I’ve written half a novel!!! (Which, honestly, blows my mind)
And now I’m on vacation so we’ll see if I get to finish a novel😂
Tagging @baloobird @keep-a-bucket-full-of-stars @romeoandjulietyouwish @toledoendo @joyful-soul-collector and anyone that wants to do it!!!!
Since November last year, I have “published” 115,334 words of fanfic, so that’s 1.4 novels 😁
