I'll never forget that clip of a guy in a talk show talking about is ex trapping him in his own apartment, with the audience laughing when he said he had to jump from his two stories high balcony into the pool. The host was so mad and confused that he straight up asked the audience how the hell could they ever find something so disgusting funny.

On social media, friends and family, including Lestina Smith’s brother, have RALLIED AROUND THE RAPE SUSPECT, posting messages of support on her Facebook account.

Shit like this is one of the reasons I had a hard time leaving my abuser much and an even harder time believing anybody will listen to me. All Things Considered I am really surprised they didn’t take my abuser aside.

Don’t even get me started on the Facebook group that celebrated abusing their male partners.

Many men are more concerned about their futures. Being abused and not defending yourself means that you can somewhat keep your public image, the right to vote, your friends and family, your job, and not being in one of the most dangerous places for men. Prison rape and assult rapes are sky high, and prisoners tend to target or be leas friendly towards men who harmed or killed women (compared to harming or killing men). Even a false accusation of you being the abuser can lead to some very bad stuff.

Really there is no safe route. Youre more likely to be blamed or areested if you call the police for help or defend yourself. But not defending yourself means that you continue to be abused.

Just hope gender equality activism moves on to supporting male victims like they do female victims. Though it likely wont happen anytime soon, despite the efforts of formerly influential activists (many of whom lost knfluence after including men in gender equality).
