Love that there's a whole part in Slime where they set out to bleed a country dry, instigate a civil war, and then set up a puppet king and that's like a C-plot
With the end of Season 10 this afternoon, I've been able to be present for the end of both Hermitcraft seasons that I've watched in real time. Looking back on both of them, both their endings were reflective of the season as a whole in certain ways.
Joe Hills, bard and troubadour from Nashville, Tennessee, was the only live POV for the end of Season 9. Accompanied by his chat, he toured his giant pinball machine one last time, then took off all his items and set out across the server one last time on a meandering journey to try and find his lost box of Christmas decorations. He sent a message to Scar, the only other Hermit left in the world, but it went unanswered as Scar feverishly added final touches to his magnum opus of a build. Season 9, a season of massive builds and lonely grinds, really couldn't have ended any other way. (Technically it ended, for Joe at least, midleap in a pumpkin patch, which is also thematically very appropriate.)
Season 10 was a very different season from its predecessor. Hermits still built very large things, but for many of them megabases were replaced with modular constructions that could grow when and how inspiration struck. The season was less about huge individual accomplishments and more about the hermits-as-community, full of minigames and server events, in-person charity efforts and time spent socializing on and off-server. Joe and his chat were still around to watch the end of this season, but this time they were joined by a dozen friends and thousands of viewers for a busy, tender, raucous sendoff to the season that culminated in one last group hug at spawn. It was a fitting end, bittersweet and joyful.
Every season of Hermitcraft is so much its own thing, with its own beginning, its own theme and rhythm and feel, and its own end. I can't wait to see what's ahead of us in Season 11!
oh hey
Do you ever ever think about how Guy is the only one who TRULY understands Ramiris.
He knows what she went through and what she is going through (her reincarnation cycle). He defends her and has treated her as an equal despite being so strength obsessed. Guy does not respect those who are weak. He barely gives them the light of day. But ramiris, the weakest of the octagram in her current state, is his close friend. He threatened to kill his best friend (Leon) (who bro is literally attracted to) when he spoke poorly about Ramiris. Ramiris, who is largely shunned and underestimated, is perfectly understood by Guy. He looks past her cocky attitude. He knows who she once was. They stopped Milim together, after all. Ramiris sacrificed her prime for Milim and him. If Ramiris hadn't intervened. Hadn't taken in those corrupted magicules. Guy would have had to.
There's no way of knowing if that would have affected Guy in much capacity. But Guy was tired. He had fought Milim, a match, for seven days and nights. He might have lost. Or he could have won. There is really no way of knowing. Ramiris 'saved' them either way.
He knows that, despite Ramiris slowly degrading memory, she will always be herself and remember after each lifetime. He knows that she may not have the appearance, but she's still the same ramiris. People think Ramiris is stupid, but Guy knows she is one of the smartest. He let's her talk for hours on end. He let's her sit beside him. That's insane. Guy, the literal embodiment of pride, let's a tiny pixie sit beside him in the demon lord council.
The trust they hold with each other is also unbelievable. Guy trusted Ramiris with the decision to allow Rimuru to, basically, exist. She isn't scared of Guy either, like how most people are. Sure, she had said that "Guy is the only demon lord I won't fight" in a fearful-ish way. But that wasn't the fright that Guy often instils. She isn't scared of him. She isn't in fear of ticking him off.
Ramiris has no qualms going straight towards Guy during Walpurgis. She bickers with him. Guy wouldn't ever allow someone to talk like that to him. Except Ramiris.
They know each other. He knows her not as the Spirit Queen or as the annoying pixie, but as Ramiris. She knows him not as Demon Lord Guy Crimson but as Guy.
I really truly believe that they're eachothers actual best friends. Guy would fight Leon, his supposed best friend. He would not fight Ramiris. Rimuru often underestimates Ramiris and treats her as an aloof child. Guy doesn't. At least, not internally.
Guy has teased, of course. Rimuru does recognise Ramiris as a smart and useful person. But it's easily inferable that Rimuru still knows her as, well, annoyingly childish to most people.
Ramiris is the only person who can treat Guy the way she does. The only others that have been shown to be able to are Milim and MAYBE Leon. Leon has shoved Guy, a playful gesture for Guy, even in Leon's annoyance. But to bicker and contradict Guy, the way Ramiris does takes a lot. Their friendship isn't just that. But it's a connection. Ramiris and Guy are immortal and ancient, who both respected Veldanava, who both treated his daughter as one of them, who are two of three ancient DLs.
Ramiris was never a proper demon lord to begin with. She is unable to evolve into a True DL like rimuru or milim. She doesn't have the strength like Leon or Dagruel. She joined the council because of the respect Guy had for her. The gratitude he had for her.
Satan's best friend is a small pixie. The Spirit Queen's best friend is a demon.

Day 18 - Oops.. (Rambling time about the Tensura game that released yesterday. If you didn't know Tensura had a new game, it wouldn't surprise me) Anyways, been playing the new Tensura game, it's good for what it is. There are many aspects of the game that are VERY similar to parts of the mobile game (not in bad ways, mind you) such as the city-building (which is slightly less customizable but since construction is instant its a bearable tradeoff), the skill upgrades (which have an actual tree this time rather than a weird circle), and the party system with 3 people going out with a supporter giving buffs and whatnot. I'm sure very few of this is original to just Tensura's games, but you can tell that they either took heavy inspiration from the elements of Isekai Memories, or Isekai Memories was a proto version of this game. Don't worry though, there are no gacha elements and no in-game purchases besides the future DLCs. At least not that I'm aware of. As for the story of the game, a lot of it follows canon but it does seem to spend more time in its own original story than Isekai Memories often did. However since I have yet to get to the Orc Lord yet (played it for 4+ hours, the added unique story is long) I don't know much of the full story. I don't even know how far into the game I am and I don't really wanna spoil myself either. While it does sometimes copy/paste screenshots from the anime like the mobile game does (c'mon guys), it does also sometimes reanimate some of the more important scenes which can actually look quite nice. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE OUT-OF-CUTSCENE TALKING SPRITES LOOK LIKE THAT. I WOULD'VE PREFERRED IT IF YOU JUST MADE THEM STILL IMAGES, WHY DID YOU MAKE THEIR MOUTHS MOVE LIKE ITS AN AI-LIPSYNCH?! HELL, IT MIGHT EVEN BE AI, I GENUINELY CAN'T TELL. I spam caps, but it's not that big of an issue once you learn to ignore it. It's just... why? Why did you even bother? Just make it still sprites at that point. As for the original characters, I do not care for this goblin, please stop making me fight him 5 times in a row I wanna learn about the otherworlder and build my McRimuru's. The game's unique otherworlder (or at least one of them as there seems to be two, in this case I'm talking about the girl) seems to have some interesting things going on, though it seems she's only now beginning to get her attention in the story, so I'm interested to see where it goes. The goblin, or bugbear as he technically is, is fine... I guess? His reasoning is kind of annoying... "To get revenge on the direwolves for killing goblins, I will kill everyone in this town... Which is made up of mostly goblins." Eventually it starts to make more sense as his goal becomes less getting revenge and more to just actually beat Rimuru after he gets his ass handed to him 5 times in a row (I'm not joking, you fight him like around five times with only one or two quests between each fight. To give the fights some credit, they've been some of the harder fights of the game, so I do appreciate the challenge. Just wish it was more spread out so I came to dread those infrequent but difficult fights instead of being like "Am I fighting him again? I'm fighting him again... alright, here we go."). Still though, I'm more interested in this otherworlder and this new nation they introduced than this goblin, though so far in the story the goblin has gotten most of the attention. Ofc the story is far from over, I've not finished the game yet, and from what I've seen before I got off for the night it seems the story is heading into an arc more focused on the Otherworlder and MAYBE this other nation, so I'm excited to see where they go with it.
On the complete contrary, I absolutely adore Kataki and his little gang of misfits who all just really care about him and his wellbeing despite his very apparent faults.
Also, Rimuru seems very much like an older brother to Kataki in that, despite the constant shouts of revenge and fighing, Rimuru just waves at him and says hi. (*´・ω・)
Kataki's gang and Rimuru's relationship are also hilarious to me. Where, Kataki is shouting at Rimuru, Rimuru, and Kataki's friends are smiling and doing introductions with each other.
Returning to a couple years back with this one honestly…
Tbh the rimuru obsession never really left… I really think it’s the gender fluidity of the character
Also changing Milim so much because as much as I think Mitz Vah’s style is cool I’m not drawing her in that drawstring thong…
Yap ⬇️⬇️⬇️:
Hey, so I'm actually deeply in love with this! Like obsessed! Low-key! I love that Rimuru's hair is very visibly slime, and honestly, it's one of my favourite headcanons ever. Slime hair Rimuru best Rimuru.
Anyway, about Milim because I was just WAITING for someone to talk about this.
Milim is a spiritual lifeform. Spiritual lifeforms are stated to take the appearance of however they view themself. Thus, Milim supposedly views herself as her original design, which I honestly think is out of character!
A large part of Milim's character (especially before her meeting with Rimuru) is how she would never let anyone judge her and her childlike freedom. She, in truth, is a childish individual who has the power and influence to do whatever she wants. She does what she likes to do and doesn't do what she dislikes to do. Milim is a completely free-spirited girl, and she is strong enough to be so uncaring about what others think of her.
I assume, ignoring the very blatant (and honestly pathetic) fanservice, her looks and attire were supposed to reflect this? Her clothing, an almost bikini looking outfit, is proof that despite her childish demeanour and looks, she can do whatever she wants and will not allow anyone to say otherwise. Honestly, I love the idea of Milim wearing something that shows she does not care about what others think of her. However, her main outfit isn't something Milim would wear. Like at all. And it certainly doesn't show the power she is so proud of. In fact, it actually gives the impression that Milim, a literal pillar of strength within TenSura, was just another victim to a weird stereotype.
Even Fuse, the author, stated that he believed they had gone a bit overboard with it. It's also nice to note that in more recent Light Novel illustrations, they often hide Milim's full attire (Whether this is a choice by Fuse, the illustrator Mitz-Vah, or a weird stretch I made to try and disregard Milim's design is up to discussion).
ALSO, MILIM WAS A GOTHIC LOLITA DRAGON PRINCESS IN THE WEB NOVEL!!!! WHAT HAPPENED (。・´д`・。).
Her dressing like this to show her "freedom" is done about in the completely wrong direction.
Okay, bye!
take me down to the rimuru city where the grass is green, and the girls are. also green
A wild Demon Lord appeared!
Fuze, really, I feel you.
Seems innocent.
Definitely NOT.
A while ago, people were debating on reddit about each of the primordial demons and if they exhibit traits that can be classified under each of the 7 deadly sins. Figured that since there's 7 demons and they're like the top-notch demons, it makes sense, so here's my take(´ 3`). Considering I don't have reddit, I figured I should put it here!
> This has no relation to the sin skill series (except Guy)
GUY - Pride, TESTAROSSA - Gluttony, DIABLO - Lust, CARRERA - Wrath, MIZERI - Envy, ULTIMA - Greed, RAINE - Sloth
The most obvious to me were Guy, Testa, and Raine.
Guy has the ultimate skill 'Lord of Pride', and although Testa was stated to be the most prideful of the demons, she shows more traits of other sins compared to Guy. Guy's pride is so powerful that it literally manifests into power. Do I need to elaborate?
For Testa, I had actually debated with Wrath before going with the more accepted option; gluttony. She speaks about the taste of souls and spends the most time "preparing" her meals compared to every other primordial shown. This is especially shown in Volume 13.5.
Diablo, although he does not show sexual desire, I believe is best suited for lust. His unique skill, 'Tempation', which is all about desire, definitely made this easier.
Carrera's short temper is a key figure of her personality, her explosive magic making this much clearer. I feel that wrath would be the most applicable to her.
I gave envy to Mizeri through the process of elimination. I dont know enough about her character to really assign her to sin, so I believe this was the best choice. I'm a Mizeri fan, so I'm really hoping to do a character dump of her soon!
Ultima was a lot harder to assign than what I was expecting! I eventually went with greed for her. Ult really wanted that physical body.
Raine is stated to be a lazy subordinate. She often attempts to avoid work, and this has led her to trouble on numerous occasions. Although only showed once, she has been told off by Guy for this behaviour. Honestly, she is the only primordial I could associate with sloth, and as such, I believe she is most suited.
I love the primordial demons so much we need for interactions with them. It's not a want it's a NEED!!
Clayman's Revenge chap 26 spoilers!
Back from a mini break, let's overanalyse this and be delusional!
MAIN SUBJECTS; Rimuru, apple, flags (Tempest, Blumund, Dwargon, unknown likely Sarion (?))
Flags
Flags feature, as I said before, Tempest, Blumund, Dwargon, and likely Sarion. In my eyes, the only other option for this fourth flag would be Farmenas. However, that is a vassal state of Tempest, and the flag of Farmenas has been seen within the anime, looking nothing like the fourth flag featured.
Blumund, Dwargon, and Sarion are, at this point in the manga, Tempest's largest and only allies. This panel is placed just after the founding festive — within the chapter itself, it features each ruler of their respective nation discussing and having a meeting. It's likely why the flags are featured.
Rimuru
Rimuru is depicted wearing casual attire, one he had worn to the meeting with the various other leaders. Earlier in this chapter, he had worn his typical demon lord clothing during his battle of wits with the duke. This places the panel, time wise, between the two meetings.
Rimuru would've been relatively happy with himself, and he had successfully resolved the issue without losing face for himself and his budding nation.
Apple
!!CREDS TO @ijney ON THE ANALYSIS OF THIS APPLE — SUCH A BIG HELP I LOVE YOU!!
The two primary objects in focus are Rimuru and the apple. Your eyes flow or travel from Rimuru's face down towards the apple before exploring various other parts of the panel. This is a very common technique used by artists to put emphasis on certain objects — in this case, the mangaka likely wanted to emphasise the apple alongside the main subject; Rimuru.
The apple can be a symbol for many different ideas — temptation and the fall, innocence and knowledge, immortality and death, love and sexuality, fertility, and decay, etc.
From mine and my friend's (thank you so much) interpretation.
The apple, mostly the perceived good traits, represents Rimuru's past self. This panel takes place at a very important time in Rimuru's life. This point in time was a complete turning point for both Rimuru and his status as a ruler.
What is seen being depicted is Rimuru looking down (?) towards the apple with a bittersweet but almost accepting expression. Maybe even be described as solemn. He appears to have been bending in the direction of the apple before he stood straight up, fixing himself. I interpret this as him either standing up from putting the apple down, almost as if leaving the apple or him bending towards the apple.
I imagine this as him finally accepting that, how he was in the past, is in the past. He is no longer thinking of himself as a 'monster with a human mind' but a 'monster with human experience'. He is a monster before a 'former human'. As opposed to how he viewed himself before. Of course, ever since he had been reincarnated, Rimuru was always morally grey, but at this point in time, he had begun to accept it — enhanced by the Falmuth incident and his accession to Demon Lord.

Rant on Rimuru's gender cause I am SICK and TIRED of this shit 😭
Rimuru uses BOTH MALE and GENDER NEUTRAL pronouns for themselves while others use something similar to 'it' and they. (It's also nice to note that very rarely would Fuse refer to Rimuru with a gendered pronoun rather then it.)
“It's cute when it's a slime, and when it's humanoid, it can't be either male or female. I wasn't aiming for anything with Rimuru's asexual gender, but I think it turned out to be a good thing." “It was too much trouble to decide on the gender, so I chose asexual (laughs)."
At the start of the novel, Rimuru calls themselves a man, like their past life. But as time went on, Rimuru would rarely talk abt their gender besides those moments (which become less and less with Rimuru losing sexual interest) and instead cuts the 'man' all together and says 'slime'.
As a small add on, Rimuru's page on the FAN-MADE wiki refer to Rimuru with they/them. Take this with grain of salt.
I personally believe that Fuse has set up Rimuru's gender for interpretation, and fans are free to view Rimuru as whatever.
Whether Fuse did this because 'well, slimes are genderless so why should Rimuru be gendered' or if he made the consious decision to create a non-binary main character, I don't know.
In conclusion, suck my non existence dick. Rimuru is a Demon Lord slime thing, gender is the least of thier concerns.
i’ve always loved how it’s that way in the form of the Great Phantom Thief Satoru too!
it’s been so interesting to see how he kept some of his past life form but altered it and added a softness to an otherwise more masculine build.
i think it rlly shows his character and how he’s evolved as a being since being in that world and becoming the great slime he is :3
They took the masculine form of his past life and mixed it with their more feminine features such as the long hair, lean build, and soft face!
It's also nice to mention that as opposed to Benimaru, Souei, and many other male character in the OVA who show their chest, Rimuru covers theirs. This is a reoccurring theme where, despite not having any gendered organs, they cover their chest and generally wear shorts (with the exception of slime diaries and a slime isekai memories unit that depicts Raphael, not Rimuru).

It's also notable that the coleus arc shows us that Rimuru can take on their appearance of their previous life whenever they want to. But chooses to go through life as an androgynous version of Shizu, that's legitimately how they choose to look.
Reblogging because this person made an amazing point!
Another thing I've noticed is that, specifically in the manga and bit later on in the light novel, Rimuru doesn't mind wearing more feminine clothes if they so choose along with their typical gender-neutral and sometimes masculine attire.
Rimuru is so gender and I'm here for it
