Louis has a crush but knows he has terrible music taste (as far as Grimmy’s concerned) so he enlists Harry’s help to impress Nick. Maybe Grimmy walks in during one of Harry’s shifts and catches Louis dancing to Ke$ha a la Ducky & Otis in Pretty in Pink. with harry poorly, coughing far too much to even focus what little attention span he has on any magic trick, and louis taking time out of practicing on the high wire to help out, nick is under no allusions that he’s doing it out of the goodness of his own heart. to fuck with nick’s already tampered with tricks is definitely what this helping out is about. 

still, he hadn’t really expected louis to just sit atop the disappearing cupboard the whole time, kicking his legs out and watching. it’s kind of eerie, and nick tries not to focus on him, starts untangling a series of knotted together handkerchiefs. he’s so intensely concentrated on the job at hand he doesn’t notice louis staring, or louis bending down, perching precariously on the edge of the disappearing cupboard. he doesn’t notice until louis’ slotting his lips against nick’s.
