10 track album
Spent the last year of my life working on this HARMONY HOUSE album in my bedroom. Check it out!
There are times where artists pour so many influences in to their opening offerings to the world we end up quite confused. The dichotomies and misplaced red herrings that can arise from over-active imaginations can be frustrating for listeners attempting to get their heads round new acts. Fortunately, Harmony House manage to create a patchwork of sounds on Running Back without sounding the least bit lost. An understated guitar intro gives way to a hip hop radio airhorn and cohesion is - somewhat miraculously - upheld. The duo are based in Brooklyn and this track is brought to us with the help of Sorry Records. The pair is made up of a hip hop producer and a singer songwriter building their unique sound from the confines of their bedrooms. Clocking in at just over 3 minutes, Running Back has the makings of a quintessential pop song; an infectious melody, an upbeat disposition and vaguely romantic lyricism. What makes the track so special is it's sense of life. Vocals that howl at the moon against frenetic and tightly wired production. 2-part harmonies that are almost unnerving in their innocence. Like many early tracks from new artists, there is a lot going on during Running Back but that is the nucleus for it's playback ability. This is the sound of a duo who grew up on The College Dropout so had to discover Abbey Road for themselves. Find out more about Harmony House on SoundCloud and Facebook
