Some of the Painting and Street Art of RATUR
Ratur
(Arthur Maslard) was born in 1983 in Le Havre, France. After high school, having always been interested in sketching and design – and his father being a graphic designer and photographer, he naturally goes for a degree in visual communication. During four years, he learns illustration and graphic design. That’s also when he discovers graffiti art and met a graffiti artist from nearby town Rouen, Madkow. He paints his first mural with him. The pair, joined by Ratur’s brother Sckaro, will go on to found the MV3 crew, and tour France to paint at various festivals or meet fellow graffiti artists. After graduating in 2004, he works with a couple of creative agencies, before deciding to go freelance. In 2006 he paints with MV3 crew « Le Havre’s skatepark », the largest outdoor one in France. He makes many illustrations and murals for playgrounds all over France. He also designs several covers for vinyl records (Dinner At The Thompson’s, Acoosmik), logos and all kinds of visual communication, allowing him to diversify his skills and develop his very own style. Since his 2010 exhibition at the famous « La Maroquinerie » in Paris, he continues to perfect his technique and style, working with all kinds of materials : on canvases, walls or digital. He is currently working on several projects and particularly preparing for his exhibition at 1AM (San Francisco) in 2014.
