Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Bonachard family curse; Shyce the Aethrum Demon! Haunter of nightmares and footsteps, this demon of many appetites enjoys a front row seat to Bonely’s life in the form of his shadow, often making ridiculous, obscene and, at times “encouraging” remarks and commentary. He thrives on the corruption of good hearts, the putrification of pure souls, and is more than happy to dine on any hapless idiot willing to offer themselves to him in hopes of a better life. This is how he obtained his last host, whose soul had almost been completely absorbed when his son decided to ax the operation and inadvertently became Shyce’s new host instead.
Being a demon of indulgence, Shyce has a deep appreciation for the finer things in life; food, drink, entertainment… etc. and he constantly encourages his “buddy” Bonely to indulge in said luxuries. After all, life is short and you only live once… at least so they say. But his largest appetite lies in his constant hunger for souls - living ones to be exact, as they’re the only kind that possesses the succulent, savory amount of vitality to keep him in business when his host’s vitality runs out.
On the flip side, this black horror doesn’t like being confined by things like “virtue”, “morality”, and especially, “Self-control”. When denied the things he sees and wants, Shyce will do just about anything to turn the tables in his favor. Using any extortion, exploitation, or coercion tactic he can muster, this demon can make things a living nightmare as he stirs up Bonely’s own fears, weaknesses, and deepest desires. Once things reach their boiling point, it then becomes a battle of the wills to see who’s stronger; Bonely and his resolve, or Shyce and his unquenchable appetites.
Sometimes Bonely and his resolve wins out. Sometimes Shyce takes the game. But on the rare occasion when the planets align during a blue moon, there are times where an exhausted and probably desperate Bonely finally succumbs and yields completely to his demon’s will. On those nights of nights, Shyce has complete power over the guy and flaunts it any way he can - as seen in his styling of Bonely’s appearance in left-hand picture.
The only thing that’s ever stopped him was his host’s shovel-swinging, eath-digging, goody-two-shoes brother who knew where to place just the right runes to keep him confined while his host recovered his strength and sanity.
Oh, that day when the Last Death comes, when his and Bonely’s soul finally become one and the same, on that day, the world will finally get a taste of
