Once again it's Pride Month, darlings! Always be loud and proud no matter who you are!
Sun Chaser is around the corner...
Be there!
Today's also my friend @alfredstvthoughts' birthday! I drew Anxiety from Inside Out for him!
Today's one of my friends' Saoirse's birthday, and she also shares the name of the main character from Song of the Sea! Here's a drawing including her brother Ben, their dog Cú and sea otters!
This week's Caturday drawing is Bagpuss, from the beloved British children's TV series of the same name!
Also for World Football Day is Max and Lili, inspired by the front cover of an entry in their book series, Lili veut jouer au foot ⚽
Yesterday was World Football Day! Here's more of Pakete and Helena from Los Futbolisímos (their football club is called Soto Alto FC)!
Happy 13th anniversary to Sanjay and Craig!
It's The Bad Guys meet S&C in a drawing idea suggested by @coconuttyglittersmurf, it's Sanjay dresses as Mr. Wolf, and Craig dresses as, well, Mr. Snake!
This week's Caturday entry is Findus, from the German animation series Pettson and Findus, which is an adaptation of the Swedish children's books, about an old farmer and his cat 🐈
Happy belated 2nd anniversary to The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish!
May the Ship Be with You Prompt 4: Date
Helena and Pakete, from Los Futbolisímos (The Footballest), are on a date at the carnival, where Pakete won a toy giraffe for his crush 🦒
I got introduced to the popular Spanish book series by one of my friends, about a football club who investigates strange things that happen on and off the field!
It's MerMay so you know what that means! 😁
Based on the episode "The Mermaid Wish", it's Rafi along with her parents as mermaids! And it's also in celebration of International Day of Families (May 15), which I believe families are families no matter who they are ♥️🌈
May the Ship Be with You Prompt 5: Cute
Bean and Cosa! 🎨
From now on I'm going to complete the rest of the challenge! (Prompt 4: Date is actually the drawing of Gumball and Penny that I posted recently -- a new drawing will take its place 🙂)
May the Ship Be with You Prompt 3: Cuddling
Rosie and Jim 💑
Spooky 'toons galore! (Part 1)
All right, let's do this!
This is a series of spooky animated productions that are upcoming, overlooked and lesser known; and I might find some that was in development but never gotten past that stage. All comments, recommendations or corrections are welcome. With that out of the way, let's begin!
Caçadores de Botija (Bottle Hunters [rough translation])
RELEASE TBD | BRAZIL
Having been in development for a number of years, this upcoming series from Brazil's Mold Studio is planned for 13 episodes. Taking inspiration from Gravity Falls, The Corpse Bride and the Brazilian comedy O Auto da Compadecida (A Dog's Will), the series follows a young girl named Lina, who dreams about ghosts in her sleep. A chain of events led to Lina, together with her friends João, Julia and Beto, they hunt down bottles in northeastern Brazil to set the ghosts free.
I first heard about the series on Instagram a few days ago before making this blog post, and I can see why it could be considered Brazil's answer to Gravity Falls due to the source of inspiration for this series as well as its overall look and feel. Series creator Dennis Sabino also states his childhood memories of being told haunted stories as well as memories of bottles also inspired the series.
As of this post, it appears that Caçadores de Botija continues to chug along at Mold Studio, as they announced an open casting call a few days ago!
Below is the first of a few trailers for the series! You can follow Mold for updates regarding the series on Instagram, YouTube, and their website!
Limbo Ville
RELEASE TBD | SPAIN
A real estate agency that helps ghosts find new homes? Obviously it's out of this world but for 12-year-old oprhan Alex Perkins, she becomes involved in the business in a town called Limbo Ville! Sadly, however, she continues to grip with the death of her mothers. Real estate business aside, Alex also sets out to investigate whether her parents have become ghosts.
Limbo Ville is inspired by creators Pilar and Raquel Mestre having dealt with the death of their beloved pet during the Covid pandemic. While the series remains a comedy at heart, its recurring theme is handling the loss of your loved ones.
The series trailer is below! Check out producer Mago Production's series page!
And that's part one! Part two arrives soon!
Another drawing for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month as well as Caturday: It's Sagwa from the PBS Kids series Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat, based on the children's book by Amy Tan, and it takes place during the Qing dynasty 🇨🇳
I remember watching it 🙂
