Angel looked like he wanted to yell some more at first, but instead, he took a step back; the hands of his lower arms on his hips while his upper ones were folded in what looked like a prayer before he closed his eyes and took in a deep, calming breath.
"Purdy. I don't wanna argue over whose fault this may be..." he began. "So I'm gonna ask a question, and I need ya to tell me straight."
He then opened his eyes to meet hers with a serious looking gaze.
"How. Many. Gummies. Did you eat?"
"I ate one." Purdy answered, to which Angel Dust visibly relaxed his posture as an expression of relief washed over his face.
"Oh. Well that's not so bad." He stated, but little did he know...
"Of each color." She added quickly, her ears folding back slightly before they eventually dropped down lower and she hunkered in on herself while giving him a sheepish smile. "All at once?"
Angel seemed to freeze, his arms hanging down loosely at his sides while he stared down that the fox eared woman with wide, multicolored eyes and a look of shock on his face.
"Ooooh..." he managed to squeak out. "Oh no."
Well that wasn't a good sign.
"Am I gonna die?" Purdy asked, her worry growing when all Angel Dust did was blink at her question in silence.
"No." He finally said, a little too quickly. "Of course not."
"Angel, you hesitated." Purdy told him as she gripped the front of her pink sweater together with both hands in an effort to try and soothe herself.
"Nonono, it's all good, you're gonna be good." The spider demon assured her, but his actions seemed contrary to his words as he took one of her hands in his own and rested an arm around her shoulders before he began to guide her towards his hotel room door. "We're just gonna get ya downstairs, let Charlie know what's going on, and you know...get in your happy place thinkin' happy thoughts."
"Holy muffins, I'm gonna die..." Purdy stated, feeling a little numb.
I'm not entirely sure if the mature setting for this is really called for here, but I'll add it just to be safe. Anyway, this happens to be one of the oldest scenario ideas I've had written down in notes since early 2024.
I'm very glad to finally do something with it :3.
