“I brought you an umbrella.”
“Oh.”
She’s a little startled but ultimately happy. Short of Neil Degrasse Tyson, Trish seldom truly enjoys when she has scientific guests on her show. Not because they’re dull or uninteresting, but she has a difficult time understanding the weight of their field.
No such problems with Erin Gilbert.
( And though Trish is fully convinced of the aliens that dropped out of the sky during The Incident months ago… she’s still a little mindblown at the idea of ghosts. )
“Dr. Gilbert, thank you.” She glances out the glass doors of the building and frowns at herself a little. “Clearly I hadn’t paid attention to the forecast before I came to work today.”

⚛ Erin gives a (little too enthusiastic) nod, as Trish accepts the umbrella. Erin had been anticipating this appearance on Trish Talk for well over a month now--not only because she relished any platform from which to discuss the paranormal, she was a Trish Walker super fan. Much to the chagrin of her teammates. (Nevermind the fact that she retooled the PA system at HQ to broadcast this show as it aired. She’ll deal with that later.)
Trish eyes the umbrella curiously from across the studio, and the impish grin on Erin’s face doesn’t abate for a moment.
“Oh! Oh no, no it’s not supposed to rain at all today. That umbrella is made of an ectoplasm repellant material!” Leaning toward the mic she gives a smug aside: “Developed it myself.” She points at it. “That, Trish, is an Erin Gilbert--not Jillian Holtzmann--original and exclusive. A pragmatic, and portable solution to any unfortunate discharge of paranormal material.”
“You’ll also notice it’s quite chic too. No need to sacrifice style for safety.”
It perfectly matches the exact shade of beige of her tweed dress.
Naturally.
