I was feeling super nostalgic and decided to recreate one of the game’s CGs ✨

Eternal Sugar Cookie 💕

Hffhbgijddgbv the way I was drawing Eternal Sugar Cookie to manifest her and she actually came home 😭

I wanted to design some background civilians in Twisted Wonderland, so I was rewatching the Under the Sea music video and this fish caught my eye. I found the perfect opportunity to draw a beautiful fish woman in the month of May. 😤

She is a mashup of multiple different character references.

Firstly, I looked for similarities between the Leech twins and Azul’s merforms to get a general idea on what she should look like. I even went back to the manga to look at the background mermaids.

Besides Twisted Wonderland characters, I found inspiration in Lady DeVoid from Pretty Please I Don’t Wanna Be a Magical Girl for her over composition.

Hailee Steinfeld’s red dress for the Sinners premiere was referenced for the neckline of the dress.

And Druvis III from Reverse 1999 has a little cocktail hat that gave me the idea to design one to emulate the dorsal fin? hair? from the original reference picture. I didn’t want to just give her long, flowy hair and call it a day, that felt really basic 🫠 and I wanted to try to push my creativity a bit.

I don’t have a name for her, but I have snippets about her profession and personality…

She is a jazz singer from the Coral Sea.

She will occasionally sing for the Coral Sea’s royal family.

She is well known in her hometown, but her influence does stretch to parts of the Sunshine Lands as well.

She is a very sunny person with a passionate for all things musical.

I wanted to draw some strawberries, then Riddle popped into my mind, and everything just fell into place after that. 😤

I was practicing gesture drawings and suddenly it turned into a Coral Sea’s Eternity Float design for Leona. I had a lot of fun designing this actually, even if the design itself is on the plain side. 😳

This was loosely inspired by King Triton because I thought it was fitting to, you know, have Leona KINGscholar’s outfit be inspired by KING Triton himself.

Probably the most obvious inspo is the trident pattern on the vest. I actually tried copy the trident exactly, but after copy pasting the image to make the pattern, the details became barely noticeable 😭. Other than that, the 5 (yes, there are 5 if you look past the braid) spire shells on the necklace were meant to emulate King Triton’s crown. And the decorative gold beads on the cuffs were inspired by King Triton’s gold wrist cuffs.
