Li Si Jia

The top dog! I mean, she had the adrenaline and drive from the very start of the race. Yes, she had her setbacks and she skyrocketed right back up again. As clique as it may sound coming from me, I’ll boldly say it anyways - this woman has produced some of the most shockingly beautiful photos I’ve ever come across in NTM history for reals! It’s nothing but the truth in my eyes. An unforgettable face, model presence through her photos, and her photos themselves are full of passion and dedication! I really admire her work on the show, as well her post show work! She accentuated her model ability and she embodies what a model is through and through, without a shadow of a doubt.

Li Xue

Place: First Runner-Up

What an arc Li Xue had. I mean, she wasn’t the strongest competitor earlier on, but her photos weren’t poor neither. But she slowly progressed sporadically and then she kept a consistent pattern with delivering week to week. I mean, she has a lot of high moments that I can think of right now on the spot. For example, her Jungle photo which I warmed up to, her promo shoot actually, her first video shoot and mostly her performances later on the cycle, she apologies her spot as a fierce competitor certainly! She grew to be one of my favourites this cycle. I coul t find any post show work other than the one above from her which is saddening.

Wang Ren Chuan

Place: Second Runner-up

Average: 5.8

With all due respect, Wang Ren Chuan’s photographic journey this cycle was like watching paint dry in some instances. Boring photos, repetitive expressions, it was predictable and would’ve been a cold day in hell if he was to deliver either a staggering or at least a decent shot. Surprisingly enough, he did! His flower beauty was his best photograph in the entire cycle, then he slowly improved with some other above average photos. Like Liu Xian Xia, he started to demonstrate a little more fight in him near the end, just a little though, not enough to really convince me he was a top competitor, let alone 2nd runner up which I didn’t agree with at all. Despite all this though, he is very photogenic and it’s a shame he didn’t max out his modelesque prospects.

Liu Xian Xia

Place: 4th

At first glance, Liu Xian Xia has got that model factor, to me at least! Incredible bone structure for days and heaps of potential. Even from her makeover before and after shot, how she switched from a simplistic pose to a more glamourous one shows that she can be a chameleon. Her model journey throughout improved in terms of rankings. From mid to high. But, she was a tough cookie to crack. In her case, it was difficult for me to be WOWed from her photos, especially earlier on. Her flower beauty shot was picturesque but it was legit 6 weeks later when she re-marked her position in the competition with her underwater shot. She’s a pretty tough one to critique because of her sporadic timeline.

Li Hao Ting

Place: 5th

Average: 6

Like a few others, the body of work of Li Hao Ting is inconsistent, with only acing 3 shoots in particular which were his flower beauty shot, I.AM Lookbook and OK Girl. Other than these highlights, his journey wasn’t noteworthy in any way other than he consistently got a 5th or 6th call-out. He was normally around the middle of the rankings.

Huang Si Qi

Place: 6th

Huang Si Qi’s photographic journey was one of the more noteworthy ones. The ultimate quirky girl this cycle imo, rooted in her very first shot that I literally gushed over. She very innovative and unconventional in her approach in shoots. Always having something different and new to offer; regardless of whether the shot lacked or scored for the week! I knew with her, she’d produce a photo far from mundane. She’s an expert with shaping her body to form different poses too. I wasn’t a fan of her makeover and I would’ve preferred it flat-out darkened to black. But she made it work overtime, and it grew on me. I love her face. It’s features are so distinct and ethereal-looking. One of her best assets as a model! So far, I’ve been very invested in her post-show portfolio. She’s been killing it!

Zhao Zhuo Nun

Place: 7th

Average: 4.625

Zhao Zhuo Nun had a pretty smooth run. He was consistent with his photos. Despite this, I’ll also say that he is in the top 5 at most of my favourite looks this cycle! His facial features remind me of Tsolmon’s from MoNTM cycle 3 effortlessly! He’s been able to deliver photos in the top 5 at least multiple times. Although he couldn’t finish his journey on top, his run was most definitely one of the most colourful and harmonious.

Yi Chen

One of the photogenic contestants this cycle by far. He’s as pretty as a picture; nice features, athletic body etc. He’s got the full package for a model. He managed to impress me with his performances like twice, and that’s a about it really. But seeing his portfolio after the show, I’m super happy to see that he’s improved as a model. I believe he’s actually branched into acting as well.

Another example of a contestant whose photos never resonated with me. This also builds onto my point being his look doesn’t scream model in my ears at all. Furthermore, the makeover really screwed him up. Doesn’t suit him at all. To me, he cruised along until week 6.

Wang Meng

An absolute belle! Her face is literally crafted for beauty modelling. Plump and pouty lips, soft jawline and cheekbones. I mean, she’s got model written all over her. I saw her prospective in the very first shoot and her second was one of the top 3 that week! I guess she couldn’t surpass more than she did with her last shot however, maybe it was an unlucky one? Either way, she’s still a stunner who is hugely photogenic. I’m very bummed her journey was cut short.

Yu Ling Yun

From the get-go, I wasn’t invested in Yu Ling Yin’s performances in the photos he produced. He always failed to capture my attention in a worthwhile way with his photos which is unfortunate. Although I disliked it, in his flower beauty shot, it does display his very nice facial features; soft jawline, pointed nose etc but he couldn’t put this into practice or use it to his advantage.

Jia Zhen Zhen

Jia Zhen Zhen had a decent run this cycle. She got a 3rd CO and a 4th CO from me in her Jungle and lookbook photo which I both liked! I love her face shape and bone structure as I feel she has something unique and endearing about her with her face. Her cheekbones are glamorous and I love her pointy chin. I’m not surprised she’s gone to do bikini modelling by the looks of it after the show because she gotta beach-babe body! Her skin has changed drastically since. Correct me if I’m even remotely wrong but this has got to be blackfishing😖
