What are you most proud of with your writing process?

I'm pretty proud with how my writing process continued to evolve throughout the semester, thanks to the feedback from my instructor. The revision part of the process changed significantly, as it grown from just creating an outline to researching, getting ideas on what information can be added, to getting a general idea of what the paper will be like.

What do you like most about your learning?

I like that the information I learned can be applied in the real world. Web writing is only going to become more apart of daily lives with people writing more books online, classes being online a lot of the time, and with social media. All of these things and more require web writing so I am glad I got the chance to learn about it.

I agree, I also feel like the information we learned will be applicable for real world use. With technology only getting bigger I can see how this is going to be a valuable skill.

Prompt: What do you like most about your learning? 

Response: I like that when I am learning I can be very creative with my methods. For example when learning the key concepts in the beginning of this course I came up with an acronym to help me remember the key concepts better. I like that I think outside the box and am willing to go the extra step to understand a concept so I can make it an applicable tool.

Prompt: What do you like the most about your responses to the interview questions? 

Response: I like that they can be answered in a personable way and they allow me to think about tangible ways I can use the new skills I have learned. They also allow me to reflect on what I have taken from this course and show my personal growth throughout this course.

Prompt: What are you most proud of with your writing process? 

Response: I am most proud of my organization skills and the purpose of my writing improving. I have noticed I am much better at writing with a purpose in my mind of what I want to accomplish and how I am going to set that up. I think a lot about how I want to get my thoughts out compared to before when I would just write a whole bunch of words then it would become a jumbled mess.

Response: When deciding the layout of this course what was the goal you wanted to accomplish with the students taking your course. More specifically, what elements of students' writing were you focused on trying to improve?

what did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college?

I learned that I need to take breaks when I write. If I try to complete a major writing project all at once, my words get scrambled, and I lose focus on the purpose of the writing. I learned to take breaks from writing, doing sections over the course of several days. This helps me not to be stressed. It also gives me a clear mind when I come back to writing. I am able to read over what I have written and edit it so that it relates to the prompt. This will help me as a teacher when I have to write important papers. Taking a break will allow me to clear my head and come back with new ideas.

I agree I feel like I should have implemented more breaks into my writing process so it does not get so foggy. This is something I will work on for the future.

What did you learn about drafting across multiple weeks that will inform your writing process after college?

I learned that having ample time to draft allows me to write my ideas more clearly and be more organized in my writing. Whereas not having as much time or crunching at the deadline makes my writing feel rushed/forced, and it is not nearly as polished. Drafting multiple times allows for deep revision to make sure I'm displaying the message I want to tell.

I agree having the assignments due at deadlines and submitting the drafts along the way also made me feel like I had time for revision.

Prompt: What did you learn about drafting across multiple weeks that will inform your writing process after college? 

Response: I learned that it's important to stop at a good spot of your draft so when you pick back up to revise your work you do not get confused. I learned that the hard way. I felt like it was difficult to remember what I did previously and why I did something a certain way so halfway through the semester I started writing notes in my planner that said things like hey you left off here and this is why. I think this also held me accountable because I was required to submit and get feedback so I could not procrastinate and then scramble at the last minute.

Prompt: What did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college? 

Response: I learned to become better at writing by redefining my work. Especially all the reflections we did. It helped me instead of just forgetting what I did throughout the week. Then I could give my feedback on what I thought was going well and what I wanted to change. I think it also helped me to provide better feedback for my peers. It allowed me to have practice targeting specific problems areas my peers seem to have.

what does your final revision process look like? My final revision process is a lot of looking at the guidelines and any and all feedback I have received to attempt to continue crafting my essay/project to the best of my ability. Since we have yet to submit this weeks and received feedback it would be to have this weeks work submitted and sent back to see exactly what it is that is missing overall to be able to specifically focus on that.

post a tip or trick you are offering in your guide that is useful to all of us!

One of my tip/trick for people working on videos for their how to write guide is to break your discussion topics into multiple sections that way it is easier for viewers to quickly navigate to certain topics of interest. You can do this by either adding timestamps, or simply breaking one video into multiple smaller videos that get the point across.

how will having a good revision process help you moving forward beyond this class?

Having a good revision process will help me in future classes when I have to write big papers. I will be aware of how much time I need to set aside to revise and edit my papers. This will be helpful when planning a paper. I will also be aware of the best system for this. I have found that when I take breaks from revising and come back to my paper with a clear mind, I have new ideas and catch mistakes.

Prompt: How are you developing style to build your argument in the content analysis? 

Response: I am creating charts, which I will then use to generate graphs, and from that, I will be able to back up the argument I present.
