smokey joe has been haunting me lately. i'll catch myself humming it .... especially the "maybe it terrifies me" part of the song. i think the npr performance from 2012 is light years away from where pip's renditions came from. it's not necessarily a bad thing (or a good thing) - it's just different. and it's what's vibrating through me.

amanda's been stuck on: my posse can do - it's been in my head non-stop all weekend long! i even caught myself singing along in the shower, shampooing my hair "with a hai-hai-hai" ... the irony of having 'better things to do' is not lost here

I can't stop listening to A Sorta Fairytale (although the whole Scarlet's Walk album has been in my head all day). After watching the video over and over again the song struck me deeply even though I can't quite figure out why yet.

the beekeeper - i had a dream where tori came to speak to my performing arts class, and she stayed afterwards specifically for me (pointing at me, saying "we need to chat") - we talked about some personal issues on my side, and then the conversation hit a lull. i asked her how her parents were, and her face became very sad - she said "i feel that the beekeeper is coming for my queen, soon"
