when Thing is held out between the two, maria glances him over quickly, carefully, and sighs in relief that what little wound juniper may have given him healed so easily. necromancy was a . . . strange concept to her — she's heard whisperings of it, over her own lifespan, the before and the after. never witnessed it in action. she wouldn't quite count her own coaxing from the dead in that tally of experience.

" and while the threat assertion makes her pause, maria smiles more at the other, stifles a soft laugh from escaping herself. there's little doubt in her mind that wednesday could, had she wanted to — nymphs weren't immortal beings by traditional sense of the word, and death already had a nesting place at the back of marias' throat. but, maria blinks when she's offered an escort to her dorm, taken aback, and before she could politely refuse as to not potentially waste more of her day doing so, wednesdays' turned on heel, command tossed past shoulder, and well— decision left out of her hands entirely.

part of the fun, the adventure, to her, however was in getting lost and finding your way home—

Rapid blinking and note-taking before she finally stops, either this girl is a grade A actress, or the anxiety-riddled girl was telling the truth and had nothing to do with the attack on the wards, and would probably never do anything wrong ever, purely based on how scared she was — this girl was not the culprit

She puts her pen and notebook in her pocket and steps forth to them. " I am now going to connect with you on a psychic level, it won't hurt ... much..." AND BEFORE THE OTHER PERSON CAN DISAGREE, Wednesday grabs her hand, eyes rolling in the back of her head, and going black, the connection taking over her entire body, the girl would be rendered fine just motionless until Wednesday stopped, WEDNESDAY THOUGH ??         Elizabeth steps back a bit, not particularly thrilled about her personal space being invaded. She probably shouldn't be putting this into the hands of someone who seemed a little bit too happy to uncover the mystery, but it wouldn't exactly hurt. There is a map of names and notes scrawled out in front of her as she sits in the watchtower, watching her Anique clock tick and tease her; it had been too long since the Wards were messed with, with no leads. She hears footsteps in the silence, breaking her concentration on a picture she'd drawn of a fellow student. She turns slowly, looking at them.

"Please state your name for the record and hold out your hand so I can clear your Alibi ~" she would put her powers to good use even if it exhausted her; she stayed up all morning mapping the campus and gathering possible leads.

there's a sigh of relief that eases across marias' shoulders. the thought of getting into some sort of commotion within the first few hours being here nearly made her feel ill. " i don't believe juniper meant him, or you, any harm . . . she's really sweet, just. overly friendly, most days. as for her though— "

marias' eyes avert down to her arms, at juniper now cradled as one holds an infant — gentle, but firmly — giving her a small, scolding stare of disapproval. another sigh escapes her as juniper recoils further against her, something equivalent of a pout.

" eyes flick to the hood where he scuttled back into hiding before returning to wednesday. " i don't think i or juniper would want to get involved with any sort of . . . um, a ' fight to the death '. especially not this early. or— well, ever, i suppose— "

a smile crosses her face at the apology and she quickly shakes her head, hand briefly moving from from junipers' side to politely wave it off, " no need for a sorry — it wasn't your fault, and not everyones' a friend right away! something i think maybe both her and i need to remember. and i don't blame Thing for reacting in turn! i'd be spooked and a little offended too if something grabbed out and caught me with a claw— which, " smile fades and her brows furrow slightly, concerned, " is he okay? i - i can find something to help bandage or heal where she caught him, if he needs it..? "

"You can breathe and calm down. We will not hurt you, I would have and could have done so already," she states firmly. 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮 perks up and signs that this is not how you make new friends, and she sighs. " I will also ensure both of you safely return to your room, as you remind me of a lamb. ---- And there are many Wolves out." It was also the first few days of school, and everyone was settling in. This girl was too sweet; the others she had met would chew her up and spit her out. "Come along." it was more a command as she began walking. "Where did they put you then?"
