i’m writing for the first time in forever , but this song came on and i need to say smth. “ clover ” by misery! is absolutely about jackie and bubba in her alternate timeline. i’ve toyed with the concept of annabel actually being jason’s instead of sydney’s which was a huge reasoning in her needing to get out of the saints and this song is really making me lay on the kitchen floor at 1am thinking about them.

not a single soul asked for this but it’s time to make you cry.

so you know how like , between high school and college when jackie was involved with sydney and a part of the saints he never really gave a shit about her? like he gave a shit about things she could give him. like the obvious , he also knew of her shine , how powerful he could truly be with her as this devotee , but most importantly the loyalty. except when he wanted her to prove her loyalty by killing his dad she wasn’t having any part of it. and it was this whole elaborate ritualistic type thing. all of the saints were there , etc etc.

despite the abuse from sydney , the cold shoulder she received from hel , the feeling of being holier than thou 90% of them gave her … it was the first time in her entire life she felt like she belonged to something , she was apart of something , she meant something to someone. especially with the skinny love that followed her and bubba those two years , neither willing to risk betraying syd.

consider this , canonical teen!jackie , rightfully upset at the saints ( but mostly bubba ) as she’s given that ultimatum :

what if we plotted in jackie’s alternate timeline where her life is improved tenfold because she burns ‘salem’s lot to the ground ( again ) and eliminates sydney after the saints arc instead of her no final girl arc.

who’s going to find themselves in a situation where they’ve betrayed jackie in one way , shape , or form? whether it be professionally , personally , even in something relating to the supernatural. she trusted your muse , which is no easy feat to begin with. but your muse threw that away in order to get ahead or get something that they wanted. it affects her on such a deeply personal level that she can’t just be hurt , no , she has to make your muse see they made the biggest mistake of their life because she’s dealt with bigger fish and more attempts on her actual life than what your muse did.

here’s the kicker : the level of betrayal she feels is worse than everything else because she genuinely , genuinely , genuinely trusted your muse. and their entire dynamic basically just becomes this song.

who’s gonna be the real mvp that gives me a plot based on “ what i should have learned in study hall ” by ice nine kills — in her present day verse , which is where she’s been researching and writing her novel on annie wilkes and paul sheldon in , you guessed it , colorado. ( the lyrics explain the significance ) an idea would be that just before leaving for colorado , her and your muse could’ve been on the brink of more than a casual fling and her insane emotionally unavailable air sign ass used the book as a way to distance herself. what also could come from this is that after she comes back , your muse explains that obvious that she can’t just brush them under the rug like nothing ever happened just because she has commitment issues.
