The entirety of that final scene is immaculate. Dana being absolutely done with Robby's bullshit and taking the direct approach and holding back no punches. Robby talking back at everything she says because he's nothing but a contrary motherfucker when he wants to be— especially when he's having a bad time. Dana trying to dial it back when Robby brings up trauma even she didn't know about because that's her cue that he can't take what she's saying right now and it's being counterproductive, but still holding her ground and insisting he needs to get out of here. Robby trying to explain, to make her understand, in as few words as possible that he can't yet. It falling short and he trying to say some more. The dam breaking and him starting to list off all the things that worry him and he feels he needs to solve before he can step away. Dana hearing all of them as excuses and talking over him. Him hitting back with saying he also worries about her— that he's worried about all the people he cares about. Her reassuring him that he doesn't need to worry like that because they have time, they will still be here when he gets back in three months, none of this is urgent. Him realizing he can't avoid saying it but knowing he can't watch her reaction because there's a reason he's been keeping this in. "Yeah, and what if I don't come back?" and he's already walking away, closed off to her, hiding his tears, shielding himself from the devastation in her face when she realizes how far he's fallen— a devastation that nonetheless, we're privy to.
