Me when Akito says "I love you" to the Sohmas
So they're really about to surprise us w/ Kyo's black shirt™ and Hatori's white shirt™ in just a matter of weeks like that.
Kyo: *the black shirt™*
Reactions: 👁👄👁
Anime only reviewer that I enjoy listening to: "I don't think they'd introduce a third love interest at this point..."
Me: *laughs in manga*
Both a little scared. Neither one prepared. Beauty and the Beast.
☕️
Okay so like. I’ve got a few things to say so I’ll probably break this post up into 2 parts. If you disagree with what I say that’s fine I can’t force y’all to have common sense but don’t bother arguing because I’ll just block you
Alright
1. A lot of us in the fandom currently were not new to fruits basket before the reboot began. A lot of us are adults who grew up with it and have come back to it now that the story is being done justice. Furuba veterans as we like to say. But because the series is being completely redone, there are kids who are just now discovering furuba due to it not being as relevant in the anime/manga fan spaces as they were growing up. A lot of new furuba fans are young and interacting with older furuba fans. This can be said about every fandom but seeing as this was already a once beloved series years ago I feel as if this especially applies to the furuba fanbase. All of this being said.
‘Furuba veterans’/Adults in the furuba fandom. Y’all have got to be careful with how you’re interacting with these new kids. Because from what I’ve seen it’s already becoming an issue. I had to DM someone who was 26 the other day and inform them that someone who they were going back and forth with asks about nsfw headcanons for kyo//ru, was 15 years old, and it said so in their description. The person profusely apologized, assured me that they had no clue and deleted the asks and I genuinely believe they just didn’t think to check, an honest mistake. But simple mistakes like that can 1. Expose minors to stuff that adults absolutely should not be exposing them to and 2. Get some of y’all in serious trouble no matter your intentions/knowledge. I’m not gonna name this person or put them on blast because they clearly were mistaken and immediately cut all contact with the kid, as one should. But this is only one of many examples of some of these older fans mindlessly discussing straight up p*rnographic materials with kids.
Be more careful.
2. Another messages to my fellow adult furuba fans. STOP treating the series as if it is absolutely immune to any sort of criticism, and yes, that includes criticisms from people who have never watched the series, read the manga, criticisms coming from people who are straight up uncomfortable with furuba as a series. People are allowed to dislike furuba because of the pedophilic and abusive relationships that are romanticized.
A lot of the people who y’all insist on arguing with are minors who are uncomfortable with those types of relationships being portrayed as okay. I don’t think I need to tell you why a grown person going out of their way to tell someone in their teens that they’re wrong to be uncomfortable with a pedophilic relationship being portrayed as romantic, is fucking weird. Furuba has its issues and people are allowed to acknowledge them. Hell, I would never recommend furuba to someone without warning them of these types of themes being prevalent because god knows I had no clue when I first went in and was super grossed out.
Stop telling kids they shouldn’t be uncomfortable with these dynamics or I will personally break your kneecaps. No matter your intentions it looks downright predatory. Get it together.
Okay I’m done
How I picture the fans as the true form arc fastly approaches
Beauty and the Beast (1991)
The way the look at the one they love with so much compassion in their eyes
Yuki Souma “Prince Yuki, Yunyun” (草摩 由希) - Fruits Basket (2019) - Episode 23
I know they won't but if anyone hypothetically attempts to run after Tohru running after Kyo:
about the 2004 version of poto
i hate how much people invalidate the 2004 movie. the production is amazing, the costumes are PERFECT and the cast is incredibly talented.
gerard as erik was incredible and sensitive and could feel all the pain of abandonment, suffering and anguish the character passed.
and i love how emmy made a beautiful, strong and talented christine and still has the touch of “youthful innocence” as described in the book.
the film is as valid as any of the versions of the musical.
IF YOU CAN’T APPRECIATE THIS MASTERPIECE I’M REALLY SORRY FOR YOU.

That deleted scene/song got to me..

FRUITS BASKET SPOILERS!
I really hope Kyo’s true form eyes are orange rather than purple as in the 2001 anime. While Tohru knows it’s Kyo, I want her to still see Kyo, that recognition. Especially when he looks at her so softly afterwards. My favorite scene from the 2001 anime.
Also because it just reminds me of the way Belle looked into Beast’s (Adam’s) eyes. She saw him no matter what form he was in.
