“ A knight? Y’mean one of them sword swingin’ metal men in fairy tales ‘n’ all that? Kinda hard to swallow down, but I guess if Demoman or Soldier can go swingin’ swords, us Engineerin’ folk can do it too, right? ”

“Well, erm, I do not posses any swords, but-” The small Knight halted his speech, reaching behind his back with a hand and pulling out a wrench about as big as himself. Seriously, where did he even get that thing from?

“I’ve got this!” He tossed it into the air above himself, letting it twirl and fall back before grasping it once more.

“I don’t know who this “demoman” or soldier you speak of are but wher I come from not all Knights needs an usual weapon, heh!”

“ How in th’hell did ya get past the barbed wire fencin’? We don’t take too well to civilians muckin’ about in a war zone, son. Bad for our rep ‘n’ all that gunk. ”

“I’m a knight!” He exclaimed proudly.

“And I have many tricks to get past all sort of stuff, haha!”

“Great!” Shepherd exclaimed. She handed him the propeller carefully, “Like I said, it’s been givin’ me a fit of trouble, be careful when handlin’ it.”

She scratched at her helmet, where her cheek would be, “See, the propeller’s blades ‘aven’t been actin’ right. They won’t unfold when I want ‘em to, and sometimes they jus’ pop right out for no reason.”

Tinker looks over the blades for a moment while carefully listening to what the other has to say. “Hmm.. I think I might know what the problem is, but I will have to take it apart to check the inside of it. Say, these are Hoverhaft propeller blades, right?”

“Is there anyone who could need some fixing? Any armours falling apart? Mechanics which needs some tweaking? Weapons which needs some repairing? My hands are all free and I’m growing quite bored!”

Shepherd Knight made her way towards Tinker Knight, looking around as she hadn’t been here before, “Hope this is the right place…” she muttered. Her attention was turned to the shorter knight before her, “Oh! Are y’ Tinker Knight?” she inquired.

Holding up a folded propeller she pointed to it, “I was told t’ come ‘ere and see you. My propeller’s been givin’ me a fit of trouble, and I can’t seem to fix th’ thing!” normally Shepherd would fix it herself, but it wasn’t exactly working this time…

“Yes! I am indeed the Tinker Knight, the one and only!” He said with pride. “Hand me that propeller, fellow Knight, and I shall have a look at it. I am sure the problem cannot be too big, at least not too big for me.”

He took the invitation into hand, turning it over once, twice, looking at the seal at almost every angle, hidden eyes watching the Cogslotters behind the artificer, certainly taking note of their differing lighted hues. “Very well,” he said at last, stiffly handing it back, though leaning forth to peer into the other’s tawny eyes. Dim flecks of hazel would likely be seen the more he watched.“Though you bear in mind this is a closely-guarded estate, Tinker Knight. This turf isn’t yours, and I expect you to treat everything and everyone just, if not better than you found them. Any act remotely out of line will be addressed–” And here he reached into his vest, and by some miracle of conjury, discreetly drew the scarlet edge of a signature blade. “– personally.” He shoved it back, then straightened, pulling his cloak dashingly over one arm as if none of it had ever happened. “Now then! Do we have an agreement?”

The smaller Knight took a step back as soon as he saw the familiar black and red spade in the other’s hand. “B-Black Knight...?” He peeped. Then swallowing hard he nodded. “Yes, of course. I.. I came here to just have fun after all, so, please-,” He made an attempt to sound calmer, and it came out pretty well. “There will be no need to use that shovelblade of yours.”

Given how his evening had gone thus far, Black Knight had been put in a fine mood. Having stacked the pros and cons of his visit, the good things were piling up quite nicely… Yet something in him tugged as a warning that things could change. And sure enough, when his eyes traced the front door, his face fell. Suspicion reigned. Not in her house, he thought.

Briskly did he take to the most recent roisterer. He felt no chagrin in blocking his path, though scowls were hidden.

“I take it the watch didn’t come to you,” he said, then outstretched his hand. “Might I see your invitation, sir?”

Tinker could not tell who the other was, at least not yet. He had not interacted mush with the Black Knight, even less ever seen his face (which was anyway partly hidden by a mask), however, he had no problems in producing an envelope. A white one with a teal-coloured wax seal broken on the middle. “Here you go,” he said calmly while holding it up to the other. The two Cogslotters remained still and silent behind him, but they both kept looking down at Black Knight with their glowing visor slots. One thing to notice was that one of them had a clearly orange glow, while the other had a light blue one along with a cross “scar” over the metal mask.

“I’d rather not– talk about it, actually.” He states softly, turning on his heels until his back faces the other. From there, he fumbles with his hands and mutters in native tongue.

“…and yourself…?”

He takes just a small step to the side, wanting to keep somewhat of an “eye contact” when speaking but he ends up letting it be.

“Well, I kept stressing myself out with a big project so I decided to put it on the shelf for a while and focus on smaller things. Mostly I have been going around making sure everything works as they should in everyone’s Lairs. I guess I can very well ask if anything has been causing trouble here? Propeller Rats flying? Blitzsteed rolling?”
