Hi its @totaleclipse573! Again! With another au centric blog! Again!! Though this is moreso an archive of my (mostly canon) stuff for my little second favorite au here. I felt the tag on my main blog had too much of me talking about the old lore? Which might get confusing. I also maybe wanted an excuse to make another themed blog but shhh. Warped Perspective AU:

Eclipse the Darkling is a weapon. A weapon to be used. Nothing more. And there’s nothing else he’d rather be. He’s sure of that…when did he become sure of that? Right. When Shadow became a problem again. Eclipse thought they could finally be brothers, it was what he wanted from the start. Now, though, he’s been shown the “truth” about why Shadow or anyone else accepted him in the first place. To use him. Manipulate him. And when the time came? Kill him. So how foolish of Eclipse, to think he should do anything other than he was made for! This time, he will kill Shadow, and avenge his kind, even if it takes the help of the only mortal he trusts to do it. When and why did he begin to trust him? Didn’t he hate Starline before…? Doesn’t matter anymore. Eclipse will do anything to fulfill his intended purpose. Anything.

Shadow, on the other hand, is being forced to come to terms with all the things he’d tried to push away for the longest time after Eclipse goes missing. The truce made between him and Eclipse (with the help of Sonic, annoyingly) was messy, but whether Shadow wanted to admit it or not, it led to a bond later down the line. It led to Shadow…caring about that little alien. Genuinely. Even nowadays he can feel conflicted about that part, given all that happened in the past, everything with the black arms…and if there’s something Shadow is NOT good at, it’s being open about anything. The roles are reversed after Eclipse’s rescue, with Shadow (in his own special Shadow way) attempting to bring back a bond that currently doesn’t exist, and Eclipse wanting nothing more than his “brother” to face his downfall. Even the dark arms aren’t too fond of Shadow right now. And though he feels Eclipse has every right to hate him, Shadow is determined to put Starline’s influence over this whole situation to an end. The question remains: how?

Two Motes of Golden Light:

In line with the original ending of Frontiers, Sonic failed to save Sage. Simple as that. He failed to save a child who had barely even gotten to live.

He's failed to save so many over the years. But this is the straw that breaks the hedgehog's back. He willingly plunges himself into a time loop of madness, desperate to correct his mistake while loosing a little bit more of himself with every attempt, repeating Ouranous Island over and over, knowing that he selfishly cost his friends their happy endings to ease his own guilt. And he does so with only Star for company, a digital copy of himself made by The End as a way to mock him, who is not afraid to speak the truth about the mistakes Sonic has made.

But things turn out alright, in the end, as this AU is a rewrite of Frontiers that merges the best parts of all endings, and gives everyone involved a chance to shine. So as Horizons ended… A happy ending is in sight.

…

Or at least. That's how it seems.

HA. Of course I do.

Bad ending au in which Eclipse actually does end up being merged with operation remaster and renamed "Comet" (Starline of course just loves the dramatic irony of it.) Its mainly a bad ending bc Shadow was killed for real and even though Comet also gets the Surge and Kit plot where they're "free," his whole self is still gone, just like them

The au where Eclipse actually does go against Starline but everyone else as well and its a Big Problem to say the least (I never really developed this one that much, it was more like a brief idea, but I'm adding it here)

I made both of these simply because I'm a huge fan of what ifs and turned my what ifs into more what ifs

OHH hmm…here’s some I can think of right now: 

Shadow’s design in this au having messy quills because I usually headcanon him as the type to care a lot about keeping them tidy. Here he’s been neglecting a lot of things in his search for Eclipse, and later his stress from being unable to help him, and his quills are one of those things he isn’t paying much attention to right now

Eclipse’s design (same link) has back spikes, as well as two little spikes on the back of his ankles. These only come out when his body feels like he must be on high defense, then usually seep back in when that feeling is over. They haven’t gone back in since the second week he was with Starline

Shadow in this au is green blooded just like Eclipse is. Because I do adore green blooded Shadow

Eclipse panics at any kind of light being shone directly at him

This au still follows my voice claims for Shadow and Eclipse regularly (Shadow his prime va, Eclipse Hunter from TOH, only in this au specifically he would sound more whispery)

From what I remember (?) (<- guy with memory issues,) it started in a group chat, discussing idw characters interacting with Eclipse, getting to Starline, it being a WHOLE DIFFERENT CONCEPT (I think it was Eclipse being around in the lab with him, and whenever kinda Shadow caught on to his absence Eclipse would get his memory wiped? Something along those lines) and then it evolved to get angsty (convincing him Shadow still wanted him dead.) Which I took and RAN with so now we’re here. I think it started nearing hyperfixation levels once I properly wrote about the au tbh. (updates are usually pretty slow but I have fun with it.) I think it’s really fun to create a dynamic/story between characters that haven’t interacted, in this case Eclipse and Starline don’t even exist in the same universe. And the concept of Shadow and Starline as rivals has had me in a chokehold for a WHILEEE if you know me you know I’m insane about their only interaction

Two big changes I can think of that happened later on was how now Eclipse ends up with scars and inhibitor rings. Neither of those were going to be a thing that happens but I think the scenes they’re connected to add a LOT to the story I can’t see it without those additions anymore. The scenes in question are really reflective of Eclipse’s worsening mental state. 

Also, originally I had Starline planning to use Eclipse as a sort of “beta test” for things that would later happen to Surge and Kit, but scrapped that and went the living weapon route. It connects with Eclipse’s past better and the whole au is basically about his past being used against him
