i just wanna talk about grace's realization that he has a chance to live

#rocky tells him he can borrow his fuel to get back to earth and ryland's reaction was to crumble.#here he is thinking he has to d1e for some whackass doomsday mission and has already 'resolved' himself to the thought #AKA maybe kinda pushes the idea #to the back of his mind until The Moment comes where has to face reality #and then u have this space alien puppet saying 'nah dawg u can just take some of my gas and you can live :)))'#and then he cries.#i like to think. that maybe he wasn't really aware of all this fear and anxiety about the future he was repressing #until rocky presents him with another possibility #and then his emotions swell until they feel too big #and pop like a balloon inside of him. imagine thinking you have to end it all and this spider rock #gives you the gift of life #i really like how this movie handles humanity and the human condition #this scene made me Ponder #like being pushed against a wall with no way out but then you realize the wall is a door to escape #listen to me- ive been thinking about this scene since april 29th 2026

Just a reminder when reading books the sweet spot for building literacy is 2 to 3 unknown words per page. If you have to look up more than 5 words on the page then it’s far enough above your reading level to cause burn out and if you don’t have to look up any words then the text is too easy for you

I check the notes on this post fairly regularly, and most of the time the tags and reblogs are people saying things like "I did my dishes because of this post" and "thank you I needed this" and it's lovely and it helps to motivate me on days where I'm having a difficult time making myself Do The Thing. And then occasionally there'll be like one person who's like "this actually made me feel terrible and did not help me at all, I despise posts like this, you personally are responsible for my depression and should feel bad" and I really cannot stress enough that if that's how you feel after reading a post like this (a post that I wrote for myself at myself because of my frequent battles with executive function disorders, that other people happened to resonate with and find motivation from and therefore decided to share) then this post is not for you, and you are more than welcome to scroll on past without interacting with it
