Wishing you a #MerryChristmas and a #HappyNewYear!!! Stay safe, stay blessed!!
Warm Embrace
The quickening pace
Of my heartbeat
Said it all
Her beautiful face
And the summer heat
Took their toll
As she undid the lace
And took the meat
It was her call
Her warm embrace
In the neat
Created the squall
I had to brace
To stand on my feet
So I didn’t fall
We had all the space
We didn’t retreat
We did it all
Graceful Song?
YOU
Are an immaculate song
Reverberating
In my ears
Ridding me of fears
That made me
Hold back tears.
Not anymore.
I will now cry
For having not found you
Through all these years:
You could have been
My undisputed queen!
Alas!
Now you’ll remain
An unspoiled dream.
Like the Goddess
Like Water
Like a graceful song
Reverberating in my ears.
For eternity.
Dawn, yet again!
It’s dawn again
And I’m awake
In her serene arms
Enduring calm
Soothes
With omnipresent charm.
Her tranquility
Transcends me
Partakes me
Keeps me awake.
Alive. For
Another day!
As I walk the streets
Engulfed
In her environ
I feel
Her juxtaposed peace
In my steady heartbeats
The scent
Of the blooming flowers
Blows across my face
And over powers
My senses
Through the long hours
The birds
Chirping in the trees
Their music Floating
Over the gentle breeze
Brings me down
On my knees
If not for her
I’d never awake
I beseech the dawn
To not forsake
My presence
In her wake
#WomensDay #IWD
Women of the world
I salute you!
For your astute
Manipulation
Of life’s
Complications
In diverse
Situations,
Locations,
And positions
To everyone’s
Satisfaction
Without subjugation
To wanton
Allegations
Of dissipation
And discrimination
And yet come out
On top of it all
To take the deserved
Acclamation
And adulation!!
Hats off to you! _/\_
26/11
When I think
Of 26/11
Of the martyred soldiers
Now in heaven
I bow my head
In profound reverence
To their vocation,
Their preference
Laid down their lives
Fighting the savage
Heartless terrorists who
Plundered and ravaged
Property and lives
Advocating heinous lies
To create turbulence
In the people’s minds
The TV screens
Showing all the gore
Oh that made me
Only sore to the core
The echo of weapons
As bullets crisscrossed
And the cries and sighs
As bodies got tossed
Never should it ever
Happen again
It only causes
Grievous pain
To the kith and kin
Of those who died
Let’s us our solemn
Gratitude provide
Merci Beaucoup
by Mini Swamy
No words can I find to thank Ye For the wonderful gesture on your part Though the chocolates look delightful More amazing is the thought To reach out across a thousand miles In such a touching way Especially when the chips are down This has truly made my day The sweetness lingers on Dear Ram And lessens the pain I'm in The world seems a better place to be In the light of such unfeigned generosity. Thank you is a small word But it does well from the heart And as it races in the air and Into your inbox drops Your goodness lingers on with me And that's the way it will always be. Sweet and sublime -your gift today Has really lighted up my way As no other Diwali gift ever can. In a world that's full of heartache and pain Your gesture touched me to the core And made me feel that humanity Has a chance to rear its head once more
DOORWAY
Her gaze
Fixed
At the
DOORWAY,
She sat there
Her arms
Dangling
By her sides
As memories
Raced across
Her mind.
Memories of
A distant but
Blissful past
Gone awry
When he left
To fight
A war
In a land
He was
A stranger to
Against
People he
Never knew.
A fight
To the end
But no end
In sight
Time flew
As she grew
Used to
The fear
That haunted
Her, for
He may not
Return
Very soon,
Maybe never
Ever.
Last Orange
Flames engulfed
The thatched roof
And mingled with
The Last Orange of a Sky
The crestfallen resident
Stared on, unable to even cry
Time
An era
Is too long a period
Of time
To dwell
In this short life
Of mine
I take
But just one day
At a time
For I know not
Where tomorrow
I shall dine
Those Eyes!
Those eyes Those bewitching eyes Enamor me no end Aqua cool They tug at my soul In their depth I blend Besotted by them, I am They leave me in a jam My emotions I can’t mend Crimson is her hue The eyes, aqua blue I guess that’s the trend If I confuse you You should see her too You will comprehend If I had eyes like those You too would drift from prose As I did for this Twitter friend If I were another man I’d have a different plan To be forever content!
Half!
Half the world is blind
To the atrocities around
Half of the rest
Just look down and frown
Half of those who care
Just can’t stand their ground
And the half who do
Are simply shot down
#mp: Murmurs
The world, my dear,
Reads too much, too deep
Into the playful
Murmurs between
Just me and you

The rain clouds
In concert with the sun
Will it shine
Or darken & pour?
Oh! Let it pour
I’ll do my rain dance! (Varma)
2
she dances
with lightning;
an electric
display
of grace (Seese)
3
My lady
Her composure, stunning;
Eclectic emotion on her face
She takes me by my hand
And paints me in her embrace (Varma)
4
paying
the eclectic bill
one dime
at a time (Seese)
5
The time
Just chimes
For no reason
Or rhyme
And pauses
For none
Be it rain
Or shine (Varma)
6
time
marches on
to the rhythm of a song
with no meter nor rhyme
nor end to the opus we call time (Seese)
7
I am spoiled
For choice
All these eclectic
Ideas
Which threat
To follow (Dimple)
8
Ideas
Sometimes flow
Uncontrollably slow
When effortlessly caught
Deprived of thought
Derives to naught (Varma)
9
I am just a novice
All this deep thinking
I get drowned by
Multiple meaning (Dimple)
10
The author in you
Is so fully grown
You can float on the water
Never will you drown
Play with your words
Make yours the crown (Varma)
11
Wearing a crown
Weighs anybody down
Woe betide
Who deludes
Themselves
With crowning words (Dimple)
12
There’s no delusion
In poetic conclusion
Frivolous words
Bring joy and mirth
To each in a way
Or a way to each (Varma)
13
To unlock the meaning
This needs decoding
Mingling with masters
Is exhilarating (Dimple)
14
no words are frivolous
when hope is faltering
at minimum, marvelous
at most, life altering (Seese)
15
i wear a crown
of my own making
my testament to
ideas half baking (Seese)
16
Half baked ideas
Can give you
Indigestion
Take a dose
Of humiliation! (Dimple)
17
Life altering
Thoughts
Stays as seeds,
Awaits hope
To sprout (Dimple)
18
Values of ‘frivolous’ are many
One of them being ‘funny’
When I’m cheerful I’m frivolous
When I’m frivolous I’m punny (Varma)
19
Seeds sprout
Carrying forth
New life
New hopes
Existence
Becomes essential,
Progeny crucial,
For Life’s cycle (Varma)
20
humble pie...
basic fare
always on the menu
but ordering it is rare (Seese)
21
Humble pie
Though
Good for you
Can cost
Dearly (Dimple)
22
Oh! The
Humble pie
Its consumption
Gives forth a high
Being unpretentious
Is eternal delight! (Varma)
23
Eternal delight
Is what I am
Aiming for
Meek will
Inherit the world (Dimple)
24
humble pie:
a dish best served
with a side of crow
and deep goblet of
chilled whine (Seese)
25
I am changing the menu!
Humble pie is sold out
Would you like
Turkish delight (Dimple)
26
ipso lokum facto
date lemon pistachio
turkish delights
too rich for my taste
i must watch my waist (Seese)
27
It is a tradition
Lokum is eaten
With bitter
Turkish coffee
No need to
Overindulge
It's all in the
Balance (Dimple)
28
The meek shan’t
Inherit the Earth
Save for the strong
Being in dearth
And scriptures
Would be rewrote (Varma)
29
A delight can be warm
In any which form
As long as the whine
Is frozen in wine
And served in a goblet
With chocolate (Varma)
30
Chocolate
Is the Word's
Oldest aphrodisiac
Take it with care
Your whine
Into a moan (Dimple)
31
The moan
May be fantasy
But the mind
As said already
Is the key
To ecstasy (Varma)
32
#chocolate
a delicious treat
though in time
i did find
the oldest
aphrodisiac
in reality
is the mind (Seese)
33
Who brought
Us to the dearth ?
Proud and strong
Distorted truths
Can look like
True lies,
Last book of God
Is Holy Quran (Dimple)
34
Depends what is
In your mind
Are you tempted
By a pretty package
Or delicious taste (Dimple)
35
the meek
shall inherit
the earth
... but by then it will be only
the scraps left by the strong (Seese)
36
Scraps
Of lokum
Scattered
On the lawns.
The squirrels
Chittered
In delight (Varma)
37
Fantasy is the
Key to ecstasy
For play starts
With a fore play (Dimple)
38
‘Play’ is the catchword
In word or fore
For, through the play
You get to the core
And then again
In the after! (Varma)
39
Yet again
Turkish Delight
Wasted
Story of my life! (Dimple)
40
A delight
Goes not waste
In the heart
It eternally stays! (Varma)
41
with regard to
ecstasy
one should not
hide
the key
'neath the front door mat (Seese)
42
The doormat
Welcometh feet
Oft with a
Wonderful greet
Perhaps to the
Beholder’s treat (Varma)
43
Treat
Does not always relate to eat
Could be an element
Giving enjoyment
Just like the doormat
That treats your feet (Varma)
44
my door's always open
for friends to stop & chat
as long as you don't walk in
and make me your doormat (Seese)
45
regrettably
sweet
treats
(and tweets)
do not go to waste
and ergo
to waist (Seese)
46
Wish I could
Leave the door open
So the dreams
Can welcome
Through (Dimple)
47
Open doors
Often welcome
Undesired elements
Making perilous
Our treasured tenement (Varma)
48
Almost no sweets for me
Just the bitter coffee
With an after taste of regrets (Dimple)
49
Bitter coffee
Is sweeter than sweet
For those aficionadas
Who cherish it (Varma)
50
The corpulent waist
With enormous girth
For the spectator
Produces mirth
The bearer suffers
Its adverse worth (Varma)
51
What can I say
Try to curb your appetite
Some vigorous exercise
Will not go amiss either (Dimple)
52
Bitter sweet
An acquired taste
No choice given
So I better
Get used to it (Dimple)
53
Appetite for workout
Is an inbuilt feature
Care against burnout
An added measure
The packs may be
Just half of six
Ample to enjoy
Life’s good kicks (Varma)
A Solitary Smile
She climbed
Out of the debris
Bruised
Face smeared in soot
A lone trickle
Of blood
Down her temple
Dried yet red
Her clothes ragged
Her breasts bare
She staggered
Towards shelter
As though dancing
To music
Of sirens that
Rent the air
Collapsing in a heap
She looked up
To the offer
Of a drink
Of water that
She sipped
And
Her lips
Curved into
A solitary smile
Of gratitude
