maybe i am drinking the papaya flavored kool-aid a little bit but this is also probably the first time i've ever seen lando talk to and act with oscar like he would with max f. like the -isms are slightly Different yknow

like the 'mate' and the 'harry potter' pronunciation. the immediate squeaky "what, me??" when asked to spell something out. him bratting out during the einstein question by pressing the bell without consulting oscar first-- knowing full well what the answer was. the whiny gaslighting during the michael jordan question so that oscar will give him the answer

also oscar's little “c'mon you know this. we've met her before” during the kylie minogue question + the hint about lando's mechanic. and all of the encouraging 'you got this'-adjacent quips feels so max f coded. to me. like you know him so well. you know he's smart and he just needs a little bit of help sometimes. and that's a-okay

lando also isn't code-switching (changing his accent) as much anymore with oscar and instead is letting his proper english accent come out (like he does with max f) so !!!!

i can't BELIEVE i have to say this - but it's a common theme i've been seeing in fics recently.

please please PLEASE stop making people who have been kissed, without their consent whilst drunk, apologise.

they have not cheated they have been ASSAULTED.

and frankly it's quite disgusting the way the topic is handled in fics - if you want to make them cheat, go do that, but don't make them apologise for being assaulted when that's not their fault, and instead handle the topic with care.

they should be receiving reassurance and being cared for, not forced to apologise and villianised by everyone else.

i will say aswell, in landoscar fics, it's usually lando who is the receiving end of this trope, and it just makes you all look like you hate him.
