First pix of my new ride! Excited to be back in the Porsche family
My project car doesn’t move, but at least it looks nice in the garage
“You are always sliding. One side, the other side, its like a ballet. It’s like a dance. It’s fantastic.”

During the 30th anniversary of this crash in 2006,Niki Lauda went back to the accident scene where he just narrowly escaped death. Some suprised fan asked what he was doing and the reply is “Looking for my ear”.
UTTER LEGEND.
“A lot of people criticize Formula 1 as an unnecessary risk. But what would life be like if we only did what is necessary?”

If everything seems under control, you’re not going fast enough.

True words from Mario Andretti. Â I tell this to myself at the start of every session of every track day.Â

"The worst cars are the best cars because they get in the way of life in interesting ways instead of boring ways. I’ll go down that dirt road, and maybe I high-center it on a tree stump, but I bet I get it out with a borrowed tow strap and a couple of new friends."
"I used to call these cars sh**boxes, but now I call them adventureboxes, as in, 'You remember that rattling noise coming from underneath my car? Yea, well that turned out to be… an adventure.'"

Driving the 2019 Porsche lineup
I really enjoyed my time at back the Porsche Experience Center this week. It’s such a privilege to be invited to this lovely facility.
Now that every 991.2 generation 911 is turbocharged, every 911 is an exciting 911. Each model is very nicely appointed inside and seriously rapid. On track, these new 911s hook up and launch out of corners like nothing else I’ve driven.
The latest Boxter and Caymans are also a blast to drive. Car snobs complain about the sound of the turbo four cylinder in these 718s, but the optional sport exhaust cures that with a crackling snarl. The torque and power of the new motors give these cars much more pace than than before; I don’t even miss the flat six of the previous cars.
The 718 GTS I flogged around the handling circuit had plenty of power for a four cylinder; it was about as quick as a base 911. While it had less grip than a 911, it’s penchant for rotating in the corners made it easier to steer with the throttle and more entertaining to push hard.
The fact is there are no bad cars in the current Porsche lineup. The Panamera sedan, and the Macan and Cayenne SUVs all seem to defy physics by driving so well for their size, weight and height. Porsche’s immense race engineering expertise really shines through in these cars.

Here’s to an epic 2019
do u remember when sportscar companies made sportscars and not suvs, it was p cool tbh
Saw a yellow Lamborghini Urus in person recently... what a styling disaster. Enzo must be crying in his grave about the upcoming Ferrari truck.

Only about a quarter of the Porsches sold this year are sports cars.
From 1948 to 2002 Porsche sold nothing but sports cars and race cars. Now under the ownership of VW, Porsche is a truck company that also makes sports cars. Let’s hope that Porsche’s fantastic racing pedigree isn’t spoiled by the company’s transition into electrification.
