French towns to visit
Brest
Home to a naval museum, a university, and 140,000 people, Brest is the second largest town in Brittany. Check out their many parks, the château de brest, and the église saint-vaast while you’re there. In the winter brest can get quite nippy, with temperatures as low as -14 c (6.8 f) so be sure not to visit when its too cold.
Condom
Located in Gascony, Condom is a village of around 6,500 people. The site has been inhabited since the bronze age and features a castle, a cathedral and a statue of the three musketeers and that famous gascon d’Artagnan. With all the advantages that it has to offer, why not give Condom a try?
Bitche
Bitche, in Lorraine, is a village of a little over 5,000 on the border with Germany. There are several military sites to visit from the franco-prussian war and both world wars. Don’t forget about Bitche’s natural beauty, be sure to check out the many cliffs and lakes in the area!
Bussy
In France there are three villages called Bussy, one in the hauts de france, one in burgundy and one in centre-val de loire. Each has less than 400 inhabitants, so there is plenty of room in all of the Bussys in France.
Die
Known for its wine and hunting, this small village in drôme is surrounded by some amazing scenery. Any one who is going to die sure is lucky!
Mutti Merkel, wie sagt man “yeet” in Perfekt? Geyeeted? Geyotet?
Demnach: Ich habe geyoten.
Also:
yeeten
GEYOTEN
Tumblr grandpa here: What zum fick are’t ihr about am talken?!
[jw]
Thanks Duolingo!

16 Länder, united and federal. 16 ways of living that are all similar and yet so different. Which federal country state land are you?
We all like a little quiz!
Welches deutsche Bundesland bist du?
I accidentally changed a setting on my keyboard and while trying to fix it (no luck) I discovered that my phone has obtained German Duolingo stickers out of nowhere, which is both whimsical and totally on brand with Duo's creepy stalker vibe. I'm scared.

I’ll take “words that perfectly describe the Académie Française but which would literally kill them to hear” for 500, Alex.
Wem mache ich hier eigentlich was vor? Ich bin ein Nerd. [x]
Die PARTEI: Nazis töten.
For my non-German followers: This poster is a perfect example of the joys of the German language.
You see, “Nazis töten” means both “kill Nazis” and “Nazis kill”. Die Partei is a satirical political party (they have two seats in the European parliament) and a court had to decide if they were allowed to use these posters. They won cause the court said it’s missing an exclamation mark so it’s supposed to be read as “Nazis kill” and not “kill Nazis”.
Papa Langbein

That bilingual feeling when someone asks you point-blank to translate a word you’ve heard about a thousand times and you suddenly forget every possible equivalent to said word (and also lose the ability to produce any coherent utterance as a whole)
Germans don’t go to theraphy. Germans listen to Alles Neu by Peter Fox and say it be like that sometimes.
