Cup Of Tea
Feeing anxious and depressed?
Cup of tea solves everything, right?
She puts the kettle on
And prepares for a sleepless night
She gets up in the morning
Feeling worse than the night before
She makes herself a cup of tea
Fakes a smile, and walks out the door
At work they're not treating her right
She told them she's not feeling too good
'Snap out of it, and get back to work' they say
If only they understood
Her friends aren't really reliable
Family isn't much help either
She can't tell anyone about the voices
In a worry they won't believe her
She gets back home, turns off her phone
And slams the door in a strop
She makes a cup of tea, falls to the floor
Begging these thoughts to stop
She stumbles to the bathroom
Reaches straight for the bottle of pills
One by one she gulps them down
Lights a cigarette and smiles, don't you know smoking kills?
Her vision is now blurry
It's hard for her to see
In her last breath she wonders
What she could have been
Look at this mess
What will make the pain go?
Cup of tea?
I don't think so.
