Hi, everyone! My name is Anna, a queer woman, artist, and arts teacher, and I’m here to ask for your support in an exciting new chapter of my life.
I’ve been accepted into an MFA in Screenwriting in the U.S., a dream I’ve been building toward for years! Storytelling through film has been my passion since childhood, and this program will allow me to refine my craft and bring authentic, diverse narratives to life.
I’ve worked for many years in theater and film, mainly as an actress and director, and have written plays, short films, and documentaries. I’ve also taught creative writing and mentored over fifty students (and over 500 in acting)—many of whom went on to create films showcased in Brazil. For the past few years, though, I’ve been teaching in a Catholic school where I couldn’t fully be myself. This MFA will not only help me grow as an artist and professional but also give me the chance to live freely and be with my girlfriend.
I received two scholarships—one for talent and another for diversity—covering 50% of my tuition, but I still need to raise $35,000 for tuition and living expenses for the first two semesters.
📅 Classes start in January, and I need to raise the full amount by December 1st to secure my spot. If I can cover this without a student loan, I’ll avoid burdensome interest that could follow me and my partner for years.
