He's weighed down by regret, but instead of wallowing or giving up, going back to partying, he sets out to right his wrongs for the rest of his life. In my opinion thats admirable and fucking hard. It would be so easy to just slide back and let things go on as they used to. I also think that Tony never really felt alive before becoming Iron Man.

I maybe weird, but I dont really care.

I dont understand being weirded out with shipping unusual things. I'd say people lack imagination if they cant see a tree and raccoon or a dragon and a hobbit together. Also romantic love doesnt require sex, it requires love. You dont show your love with just putting something somewhere. It's the feeling between two sentient beings.
