Submit a trans musician!

Hello! I'm a genderless dyke in their 20s from the UK. My aim for this blog is to have as many talented transgender musicians listed all in one place. I want to create a resource for trans people to find others like themselves in every genre.

I mainly listen to punk / goth / metal, but I welcome submissions from any genre. When this blog is large enough I will add genre navigation and an alphabetised list of previously submitted musicians.

All musician's pronouns are based on what is submitted, or what is currently listed on social media bios or articles/wiki.

FAQ:

How do I make a submission? Send me an ask with the trans musician's name or stage name, and their pronouns. If they are part of a band, please include the title of this band and their roles (singer, guitarist, drummer etc).

Optional information you can include: Genre, location, more well-known artists they sound similar to, a noteable fact, why you appreciate them, favourite lyrics, favourite photos, rec a particular song

The more info you supply the easier my job will be!

Can I submit more than once? Yes. You can submit as many trans musicians as you like.

Can I submit a big or small musician? Yes. It does not matter if a musician has 30,000,000 listeners or 3.

Can I submit a non-English speaking musician? Yes, absolutely. I encourage you to do so.

Can I submit a trans musican that is part of a band or not a singer? Yes. Please also tell me the band name and their role (singer, guitarist, drummer etc).

Can I submit a non-binary musician? Yes. I am using trans as an umbrella term for all people who are not cisgendered.

This blog will largely run on submissions, just because I post a musician does not mean I am aware of or endorse everything they have said and done.

I have seen Gender Crisis live, their professional recordings do not serve them justice, the energy was phenomenal. The band has great chemistry and Rory regularly uses the moshpit as his personal runway.

100 gecs is a hyperpop band from Missouri, USA. The duo's debut album helped consolidate the genre and is the first band many people think of when it comes to hyperpop.

I saw them live recently and Ishmael is captivating on stage. It's like the music possesses them, every expression and movement conveys something new. The lighting was highly specific to their performance (not usual for shitty little punk shows) and when I asked them after the show they admitted they were a "huge theatre kid". Explains a lot, fucking banging band.

She/Her/Hers is a folk punk band from Michigan, USA with pop and metal influences. Their latest album features some slower chamber pop ballads.

I first heard She/Her/Hers after stumbling across their song Kill the Boy Band in 2019. It perfectly encapsulated how I felt as a teen surrounded by festival line-ups and Kerrang! full of nothing but white dudes.

Sadie delivers explosive straight to throat vocals, it's no wonder G.L.O.S.S. is one of the most well known trans punk bands on the scene.

Where G.L.O.S.S. packs a violent punch of trans fury at the society we live in, Dyke Drama is a calmer melancholic exploration of Sadie's personal gender identity issues and relationships.

Highly political, the band never pulls their punches and are on a mission to piss off all the right people. Their politics are not hollow statements, they know what they're fucking talking about.
