Whats refreshing about the Avid/Marm debacle vs the Wilbur Soot debacle is the level of respect and compassion fans seem to have for each other. It's only been a few days, but so far I haven't seen anyone being yelled at for having enjoyed the content (which was a point of contention with WS), and that it's not being considered a moral failing for those who choose to continue writing, cosplaying, or drawing the characters Avid/Marm portrayed (also a point of contention with WS)

The fact that aggression is low is what I find refreshing, I think. It's proof to me that maybe the MCYT community has grown a bit, to at least realize that taking your pain out on others will not lessen your own
