Hey so can you run a poll comparing the age people first read the silm to who their favourite character is (based on the generally most popular options from your popularity poll, ig? Or preferences in character factions could also work.) I was quite small when I first read it, and the only other people I've seen read it at that age seem to have the same blorbo as me, so I wonder if there's a connection between when you were introduced to characters and who you latched on to.

i've seen several variations on this meme with legolas & gimli but no one but me gets which way around it should be it should be like this:

the lords of gondolin in some fancy attire. i didn’t include tuor but my other drawing of him is here!

this took about two weeks, and 90% of the project was outfit design practice for myself as i struggle with it the most. it also laid the groundwork for the gondothlim in my mind for any future projects. every outfit is inspired by different cultures ranging from asia and africa to europe and the americas, and i am happy to go into more detail on each if interested.

i try not to treat every character i draw as static, meaning they change in appearance and personality depending on where they are in the story. i do this not only to push myself design-wise but also to force myself to think about the characters on a deeper level than just their face value. clothing is traditionally a key aspect of self-expression, so i wanted to (hopefully) represent that in each outfit and character here. that’s all, thank you for reading :)

I just want to say that I’m really happy I found your blog. I don’t always see a lot of diversity in the Tolkien fandom and it’s refreshing to see people that look like me in a fantasy setting. Your drawings are amazing and help me dream. I love your interpretation of Ulmo, especially with vitiligo. It’s beautiful and magical. I can’t wait to see what else you will come up with in 2025 !
