So like where exactly is this set? Idk enough about canada to know lol

HEWWO!! It’s set in Alberta, but mostly the badlands.

This is because

1) I am autistic and love dinosaurs, and Drumheller, Dinosaur Provincial Park, etc. are there.

2) Write what you know, I am Alberta born and bred (unfortunately HAHAHA)

3) It’s the closest Canadian environment I could think of to Nevada where TFP is set

However, they’re probably gonna end up in different parts of Canada at different points, and possibly also other areas of the globe :D

Like that one episode where they go to new york, I’ll probably put em in Toronto or something.

Also, the town it’s in is not real! But it’s based on Drumheller for sure. [Because I am AUTISTIC]

It’s named Ammolite because Ammolite is an opalized variant of an Ammonite fossil. Ammolite is also mostly Alberta specific, and is the Provincial gemstone :D

In TFP the fictional town is named after a gemstone as well so I thought it fitting for that reason too. [Also there IS a Jasper in Canada, and it’s not in the Badlands haha… very pretty though I love going there <3]

I’ve always wanted a transformers fic where cybertronians find the golden record. Every now and again I remember that the golden record exists and it makes me burst into tears, it will outlive humanity, possibly for the rest of time, a single desperate attempt at saying “we were here”, humanity’s drag path, we were here and we say hello and please remember us and it’s so tragically beautiful and anyway I think Optimus should also get emotional about the golden record. And maybe depending on the continuity, the voyager probe is what guides the Autobots to Earth idk.

Maybe possible fic prompt? Or if anyone knows of a fic like this I’d love to read it!!!

Maybe im biased because I’m Canadian but I think that if transformers landed in Canada rather than the states them staying secret would make WAY more sense.

Im gonna use data from 2011-2013 because i love tfp and im pretty sure its set around the time it was being made.

USAmerica Population: ~ 311 Million (in 2011)

Canada Population: ~ 34 Million (also in 2011)

There’s just genuinely fewer witnesses, AND, if they landed in Alberta’s badlands they basically wouldn’t have to change a thing about the writing aside from some snow in the winter. I hate living in the most americanised province please help

They seem to be effected by the cold but only extreme cold, as in antarctica, so i don’t think the winters in southern canada would be an issue. And even then… it could be a really cool challenge right? Having to fight not only the decepticons but also being strained by fighting the cold freezing their systems?

Idk i feel like the setting is more interesting than nevada and also drumheller (which is a place in the badlands, if you dont know) has dinosaurs and Whiffs (a train-themed restaurant that i love dearly)

Even other areas of the badlands that aren’t drumheller (maybe too many tourists?) would be cool too, or in the rockies (lots of hiding places)

On average the albertan side of the rockies is dryer to my knowledge and the BC side is wetter, and both of those effect the condition of the mountains differently.

the way that honestly a lot of the forests in BC are so mossy and beautiful that they look straight out of a fantasy book…. And I wonder what bee would think of the massive slugs in bc lol

The plains could be interesting as a challenge because they’re flat so where are they hiding, but also that terrain is… boring im sorry… i mean it could be interesting in them taking on different alts maybe, like uhh…. Tractor…. Idfk

Also if they’re in canada its another excuse for me to make starscream vaguely resemble the snowbirds’ planes
