thank you! im using this to tell you your pinned post is Not based. you should take some consideration into your heart - with a quick search w/ most peoples urls with such asks you can usually find their link being verified a lot of these people dont have time to write new asks and theyre suffering the worst thing that has ever happened in our lifetime. i implore you to take this to heart and realize you're being deeply cruel to people doing what they can for bare minimum scraps to try to get help in what ways they can - up front deeming they could probably be scammers bc theyre not people you know is at best cruel and at worst deeply racist it's better to keep that sort of thing to yourself and silent if you're not gonna post it, but i hope to you to do what you can please.

hi . i have been quietly working on art for hlvrai stuff (most pointedly rehauling artwork and refs for an old au) but here's the new design for an old hlvrai oc of mine :) H.C. stands for "Hi-C" and her friends call her "Juice" she goes by literally any pronoun you could think of calling her. hi-c is her favorite drink

but anyway, the way that I like to write tommy & benrey is that any of what benrey Means to say must first be either A) filtered through at least two related abstractions, (and I do my best to keep them abstractions that feel True To Things Benrey Would Care About) or B) an analogy without any explanation.

except tommy gets, almost exactly, what benrey Means from what they're saying. it's not that he can read their mind, it's just that like. he knows how benrey thinks. he thinks similarly. benrey says "florence and the machine videogame" and tommy thinks florence and the machine... famous composer of Dog Days Are Over... video game... and says "yeah, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days"

also benrey can read tommy's emotions really well. they'll get caught on the actual words he says, I think, but like. tommy is saying this thing but he is being polite nice not nice because he likes this person. those words are mean but tommy is being really sweet and didn't think about how it would sound. tommy is being this polite because he's the angriest he's ever been. maybe the others could notice stuff like that after knowing tommy for Years, but benrey's already known him for years. they know him.

one last emotions-related thing is that it's very important to me that benrey has a very flat affect face-wise but tommy can read them like a book because he spent so long studying facial movements on other people and how to mimic them "right" that he's very in tune with how benrey's are "wrong". like he doesn't know what to Do or how to Help with any of the unpleasant emotions but he can tell they're there unless benrey's trying to hide them. so benrey says some shit like "no– hey why's there. no reception?" after blearily staring at the staticked TV for like half an hour, and looks upset and confused At Themself (different than upset in general, or confused in general, because benrey is usually confused and doesn't care about it) so tommy will go "um... do you wanna. I have DiGiorno's Stuffed Crust™ Five Cheese in the freezer! do you want pizza?" and benrey knows that tommy is trying SO hard to be comforting, so even if freezer pizza isn't actually wanted or a good solution to Randomly Lost Time Again, they'll still go "for delivery?" and tommy will go "it's not delivery! it's digiorno!" and benrey will go "oh whoa you got the good shit, hell. hell yeah" and then they have pizza. and the fact that tommy noticed and is Trying to make them feel better honestly does more than telling someone and having them say the right things would.
