Bruce secretly loves watching old soap operas.
A couple years ago, an old TV Network was suddenly funded back to life. But instead of producing new movies or series', they just replay old classics. The only difference is instead of black and white, it's colorized. People question who would even watch such old timey shows, but then they see their grandmothers and grandfathers gathered on the couch watching. And sure, it's sweet, but who the hell in their right mind brings back an old station just to have old shows replayed?
You'd think that the reason why Bruce is sleeping so late into the night is because he's busy working in the Batcave, but he's not even working. He's just laying on the couch, eyes glued to the huge screen as he watches his favourite soap opera at 3am.
When one of his kids discovers this and it spreads like wildfire in the manor. They make jokes and poke fun at their mom for watching overdramatic soap operas. Bruce ignores them and continues watching—he's not even eating or drinking anything. Just straight up watching.
Eventually the jokes are tired and they're genuinely curious/worried for Bruce, like, seriously? Of all the things to hyperfixate on he chooses soap operas? Curious, they decide to watch it too. Thus, they join Bruce on the couch in the batcave, each with their food and drinks as they sit around him. Bruce wouldn't say anything, but they notice the small smile on his lips once they've settled their positions around him, they all have their own blankets and/or sleeping bags because the couch can't fit everyone all at once.
They don't know what episode Bruce is on, but that hardly matters as the show begins and opens up with the usual credit scene.
